    Nice deal but I am a bit LEGO’d out…

Imo lego is just so overpriced

    • +12

i mean it is overpriced but… theres a reason for this. when it involves licencing, stock weight, types of builds require scrupulous checks to get everything right. i mean… lego deserve to be overpriced. Means you get quality, also resale quality generally lego goes up in price and they very rarely have any issues with there items in box after all lego is extremely well made.

      • Agreed. But imho nothing deserves to be overpriced

I see where you guys are coming from, but I'd rather we had more quality, expensive products that people actually look after. Lego can last generations, better than a low-quality toy of half the price that ends up in landfill after a year or two.

          • @nigel deborah: could'nt agree more

          • @nigel deborah: Exactly. I bought three sets of 800+ peices recently as decorations and not a single one was missing, all fit perfectly and instructions were perfect.

Theres a reason lego holds its value. If it wasnt such high quality we would have chinese made knockoff bricks everywhere.

    I didn't know Owen Wilson had a minifigure .

      Wow..

    • 😂

    • yep, theres one with him a a minifig and a jetski

Lots of other small sets for $9 too, monster truck is 50% off

    • Monster truck looks alright with the hot wheels like flame look .

      • Most of the 15.99 city sets are ~$9 on a regular basis.

EDIT: Be warned, you'll likely get this set in a padded bag, not a shipping carton.

      • Thanks got the Monster truck

You can just 3D print these now days…

Same quality, same colours for just $9? Didn't think so.

Printing 3D Lego can be up to 90% cheaper…
        https://www.geekwire.com/2017/researchers-run-numbers-cuttin…

Sorry Lego fanboiys just facts, I know you love real Legos but there are aways cheaper alternatives, isn’t that the point of OzBargain :)

        • Imagine all the time ,skill and equipment involved .
Not cheaper with those factors hehe .

Quality difference from the study you cite:
          https://www.mdpi.com/technologies/technologies-05-00045/arti…

And, no mention of the quality difference in the study itself, nor colour variety, different elements (they just printed a single black 2x3 brick), design, etc.

So no, you can't just go and "print these now days…", not really. We're not there yet.

          • @DevGuy: You can also download movies and TV shows for free from certain sites. Doesn't make it right.

A lot of hassle (trimming pieces, setup, cleanup, etc) , time and cost to 3D print the parts of a kit like this. Compared to $9 of instant fun and gratification of the Lego kit. Not to mention you aren't going to be able to replicate the rubber parts, flexible resin printing is a pain.

Plus all this ignores the cost of the 3D printer, resins, time obtaining the appropriate models, setting up your print jobs, e.t.c. e.t.c.

I'll just go buy the Lego kit thank you :-).

If you are into it for the fun and challenge of 3D printing, then maybe - but as a viable alternative to buying the $9 Lego kit - not really.

Imagine coming on the page of a Lego deal, spruiking 3D printing as the way forward (which isnt remotely comparable), and calling everyone that just wants some Lego for their kids fanboys.

    • How much Lego have you 3D printed? The photo of the black bricks show a marked difference in quality between genuine and 3D printed. Your precious printed ones look rubbish tbh.

  • I'm running out of cheap lego sets to get for my son.

Are the train sets/tracks worth it?
