I am wondering if anyone knows which sections of the M5 falls under "M5" and which falls under "West Connex" ?
I ask because, recently when claiming the M5 cashback after using the M5, my invoice showed
that some sections of the M5 are now called "West Connex" and so it is ineligible for a cashback.
I always thought, that whole tollway was "M5", but apparently it is not.
My invoice had specific sections of the Toll road divided into M5 and West Connex,
and so cashback/rebates were only allowed for the M5 but not for the part of the Toll road, which is now designated West Connex.
Then, when looking at the Transport NSW's official FAQs, there are specific locations where the cashback / toll rebate will be honoured.
Are these locations the 'boundaries', between what is the M5 and the West Connex toll roads ?
M5 South-West Cashback Scheme
https://roads-waterways.transport.nsw.gov.au/sydney-motorway…
The NSW Government’s M5 South-West Cashback Scheme allows NSW residents to claim back the value of tolls (excluding GST)
paid while using a vehicle registered in NSW for private, pensioner or charitable use on the M5 South-West Motorway.
Motorists can claim a rebate on tolls incurred using an eligible vehicle at the following locations on the M5 South-West Motorway:
The Hammondville toll plaza
Henry Lawson Drive, Milperra
The River Road, Revesby
Fairford Road, Padstow
Belmore Road, Riverwood.
There are no plans to expand the reach of the M5 South-West Cashback Scheme to include any road other than the M5 South-West Motorway.
The part up to King Georges Road eastbound. Anything after that is the M5 East or M8 and attracts a separate toll i.e. WestConnex. In other words, the M5 tunnel that goes to General Holmes Drive now costs money that you won't get back
