Where Can I Get “Pheasant-Wood” Top for My Standing Desk Frame?

I am going to buy a standing desk frame from TR Sports, need to find the top for it in pheasant wood hardwood. Something like below:

Where can I buy it from? Bunnings don’t seem to sell this type.

  • Check gumtree. I see people selling timber slabs on there sometimes. I am not sure about pheasant wood, but the hardwood slabs I see on there look very similar to your link. Just need to maybe coat the slab with something.

  • Looks a lot like blackbutt/marri.

Jump onto marketplace/gumtree and get them to custom make a slab.
Would come in at around $500-$1000 depending on quality and finish.

Else look for natural/raw edge coffee tables and repurpose them.

    • Also looks like those mango chopping boards from kmart.

      • Yep mango or acacia as well would look similar

  • Gumtree, or google nearby lumber yards that sell 'live edge' slabs.

  • Which state are you in?

  • Check FB marketplace for old hardwood tables. They can be found cheap and cleaned up easily with some light sanding by hand and danish oil. Multiple coats. Just have to tear off the legs etc.

  • Nobody seems to be addressing the issue with your question.
Pheasant wood isn’t available in Australia as it doesn’t grow here and we only import a limited range of timber.
Think of it like following an American recipe that calls for canned yams or something- you will need to find a substitute.

Lots of good suggestions here for substitutes.

  • Hey did you manage to track down Pheasant wood? I think its a really nice look and would like to get one for my own table top.

    • No. I came across a deal from TR Sports I think so I am using a dual motor standing desk with white top.
