Let’s see what the people of ozbargain drive. Is the cash people are saving off this website enough for some high end cars? Probably not, but let’s hear it anyway. (No I don’t drive).

14' Swift Sport - daily & track hack99' Galant VR4
wow! :D back in the day, I wanted a Galant, is it powered by 4G63 or 4G63T ?
99' was an 8th gen so it has a 6A13TT. EC5A chassis, you're thinking of E39A the "classic" VR-4
Land Rover Discovery Sport
Ford Ranger WIldtrakWent through a bit of "1/3 life crisis" beginning of the year (I blame COVID) and got myself a 2021 BMW 128ti recently. Got sick of driving a mid sized SUV (I have a couple of young kids) by myself most days during the week. Swapped over to a hot hatch - no regrets!
Nice! The 128ti is supposed to be really good value.
Yeah I think it was better beginning of the year. I ordered in March. Looking around Car Sales for a similar spec 128ti, it's about $4000-5000 more for a dealer demo than what I paid for brand new.
2011 WRX STI Spec R Hatch
2016 hail damaged Mazda 2 for the daily run aroundHoping to sell the STI and replace it with a 2022 86/BRZ
I drive a 2008 Holden Astra, that I bought ex fleet in 2015, for thousands less than its value at the time. Bought outright.
Will drive it into the ground.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.I'm saving for a house, and I will never have a car loan because I will never have a loan on a depreciating asset.
I have 2 homes and still drive the can i purchased in 2010 which is a 2006 Ford Escape. Totally agree deprecating assets ESPECIALLY cars are a total waste of time. I will never loan money for a car
1990 Toyota Landcruiser Troopcarrier (4.0L Diesel)

you can drive it all week and taek it for a spirited spin on weekends too
Is there an ozbargain way of getting the c63s?
2021 Mazda CX-30 Touring w/package - got ex-demo for ~15% off RRP with 5k kms
2014 Holden Cruze SRI-Z for daily work & errandsI'm surprised how many have multiple cars.
Me too. Cars are expensive. My Mum and I both own our car and pay everything half each. It's still damn expensive to run (and it's only a 1.8L, not to mention its registered in my Mum's name because she's a pensioner).
Threes no value in owning more than one.
Well, I commented the cars my wife and I own and drive, because we sometimes swap but… I disagree. There certainly can be instances where there is great value in owning two vehicles.
My husband and I have owned a car each in the last 15 years (even when none of us needed it to go to work). With 2 kids and us likely to go to the gym or shops we always noticed one car wasn’t enough anymore. Now I need the car to go to work so it makes sense and my daughter is on her Ps and hopefully once lockdown is over she will drive it /need more (and I’ll use my husbands)
I see everybody over extending themselves borrowing to finance all these high end cars when all cars do the same thing get you where you need to go or take the kids to school and stuff
Yup, I see that too. I was so excited when I bought a 7 year old car. It was the first time I had a car that was more than just an engine in a shell haha. And it's still the best car I've ever had (even though it's 13 years old now!)
I am old school in that if I can't buy the car outright in cash I can't afford it.
People on high incomes are better off leasing
That's for people with an ABN? I am PAYG so I can't see the benefit as I cannot deduct cost against tax.
@ymmf: Cost get taken out pre tax, so lowers Ur taxable income
Not that simple, depends on value and how much you drive it.
I totally get this point of view but what's the most 'fun' car you've lived with? I think it changes things a lot…

well as cheap as you can get an Urus. Paid under 100k
were you pointing a gun at someone at the time?
how does it depreciate 300-400k (over 75%) in like a year or 2?
even the cheapest current carsales listing is over 400k and they are like what, 500k new?@SBOB: TOTAL BS LIES
So you made a new account to post spam? Huh, mods please check this out.
@[Deactivated]: I'm referring to the guy who said he paid 100k for a car worth 400k+ he's obviously lying
@[Deactivated]: Haven't posted anything mate. Feel free to report me.
If you like proof I'll show u@sydneyozbargainer69: A urus for under 100k, what planet do you live on?
@[Deactivated]: Unlikely to be earth, and if it is, definitely not Australia.
Perhaps an in app purchase in forza or something ;)

So many BMW and Merc owners…. thought this was OZB
Haha I’m surprised too!
Model T Ford with a EV conversion.
Mustang GT V8 - garage queen
Cerato skateboardFrugal and cautious in saving/investing/spending but love a little luxury as my reward.
Car is unmodified - don’t waste money on tacky accessories , economical if driven prudently.
I invested in six year factory warranty - knew I was buying Ford not a Lexus
Cars are shocking “investment”
In early 90s my wife and I owned three houses. We were only couple we knew who had BOTH CARS from the 70s
In true OzB style, done the calculation - Stang is 1.37% of TNW or 0.7% if still with aforementioned wife :)
2018 Suzuki Jimny Auto - fun small daily runabout and very capable for the occasional off road adventure. Currently worth ~$10k more than what I bought it new.
2005 Subaru Forester - Was going to sell but cost of sorting leaking head gasket pretty much eats up value of the car. Will probably keep using as our second car until it dies.
Bull only very rare or in demand cars go up in value not some tiny little Suzuki girls car
LoL. I love how you didn't check. The wait on a new Jimny has been over 6 months since release, and they regularly sell for significantly more than purchase price. A unique but quirky little thing with obvious flaws, but FUN!
Currently - nothing!
Something I miss about working in dealerships, although I don't miss some of the trade-ins I used to take home.
BS you took a GR4 home when the lockdowns happened, hid it under some papers on way out
Lol that actually was my demo the last lockdown
There is your mistake, you gave it back, Id would of claim salvage rights or finders keeper, whatever is applicable in NSW law

Kia Cerato S Premium 2015
Kia Cerato are very good value for the money! We recently sold our 2012 as we upgraded to a Pathfinder.
'17 BMW 440i
Nice!
Thanks! Got it in Snapper Rocks Blue, 6 months old after being registered and used by BMW Australia (so somewhat true to OzB fashion)
Subaru WRX, Premium, 2015, manual

Subaru Impreza WRX, 2001, manual
Toyota Soarer, 1986, automatic
Honda Prelude 1982, manual

Currently I am driving Subaru WRX Premium 2015.
All the others were my past cars :)Oh well you didn't specify lol
I've had all kinds even had an R33 but my daily is a lancer and my project car is an old Subaru liberty RS turbo ;)
Toyota Corona, 1976, manual
Nice!
I've got the 2016 WRX Premium. My previous was a 2001 WRX too. Bug eye.
I feel the WRX lost its way a bit. The next generation is about to be announced. Supposedly more powerful….
Model 3 Tesla
W124 Merc E220 special edition, had it for 16 years and apart from servicing and replacing the blower fan haven't had to lay a spanner on it, hardly use it so I'll get 'club' rego on it when I can be bothered :)
2014 VW Multivan camper. Just to annoy the four kids (three teens and one 26 yo). Apparently I was supposed to downsize when the eldest two left home, not upsize and make it comfortable for myself.
Nissan Fuga
Toyota Vellfire2021 Haval H6, 2005 Jeep Cherokee KJ 2.8 CRD (Borrowing from a friend) and a 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 project car.
Did a post a while back about looking at getting a Haval, got told to buy anything else by the community. Been enjoying it the last couple months, still borrowing my friends jeep when the misses is using the Haval and have since decided to torture myself with my first project car which has been off to a bumpy start as the first shell I bought caught fire while I was at bunnings. Onto shell number 2 now but already have 3 and 4 lined up.
How has the Haval held up over the last couple of months? Any big issues?
Been pretty good, at about 4500km on the odometer at the moment. Only have had 1 fault with the car so far. That being the TPMS system spazzing out and not syncing up. Was easily fixed by disconnecting the battery.
Other than that the only gripe I have had with the car is when cruise control is on the car can freak out when it comes up to a bend in the road and slows down quite dramatically. This can result from doing 100 to 80 in about a couple seconds. Have put a formal complaint in as I know south Africa has had this feature disabled. Pretty much just have to have your foot on the accelerator when coming up to any bends at the moment though.
Good value for money, would get the Awd version as the power makes the front wheels abit skittish in the wet on the fwd version.
Android auto works fantastically and all round a very decent car.
