Clicked on the previous deal for $329 and found that it's dropped down to $299 delivered. My shopback widget also showed 6% so we'll see if that tracks too.

Looks like the best Android tablet for around this price. Was thinking about a Tab A7 as well but not as cheap for local stock at the moment and a bit lower specs.

  • I've been looking at these budget tablets as a replacement to my Galaxy S5 my kids are using for Youtube kids etc.

Having 4gb of ram and a slightly higher clocked cpu than the Samsung A7 makes this a pretty good choice (3gb ram was making me hold off the A7)

Understand less updates with Lenovo but does anyone have this and can comment of it's use and limitations?

Depending on your use case, a Lenovo ChromeBook Duet might be a better option.

    • Was thinking the same thing. Just got the Duet for $316 which comes with a keyboard. Not sure which processor is more powerful though.

      • +1

The P11 is better than the duet. Processor, display, camera, connectivity and battery.

          And speakers.

  • This should be easier to use for kids (faster, too), I think

Hmm somewhat tempted. Still using my Nexus 7 (2013) which is a little slow these days…11" is a little larger than i'd like, but doesn't appear there are many options in the 7-8" range.

Nexus 7 was an incredible tablet for its day (and price). Was pretty dissapointed when mine died a few years back. I think this is a pretty good choice for a media player but certainly not as easy in the hands.

    • I still use a Nexus 10, I don't see a need to upgrade for me. There are unofficial ROMs for popular older tablets that can breathe new life into them, check out the downsides first though. The ROM I use unfortunately disables the camera as it doesn't work on more modern Android OS's, but I never used it anyway so I went with installation.

Yeah I'm using a custom rom, however, it's still pretty sluggish imo. ie. Updating an app takes multiple minutes etc which is obviously limited by the storage speed and CPU. Have tried a few newer ROMs recently and they all struggled for some reason to play certain media (Netflix etc) weirdly.

    • I'm also looking for something to replace my Nexus 7 (2013) that's a similar size. Besides being too sluggish now, the touch screen is no longer responding in many places.
Have you found any other reasonable options?

      • Unfortunately not. The only thing I've come across is the Samsung A7 Lite (8.7 inch), though the screen isn't even full HD so that rules it out for me personally.

This is still tempting me, even given the larger size…don't think you'll beat this for value.

        • I hadn't noticed that the A7 wasn't HD. Thanks for pointing that out!
The other disadvantage of a larger tablet for my use is the weight: 490g for the Lenovo Tab P11 vs 290g for the Nexus 7. Not so good when holding it to use as an ereader.

          • @Dacs: Hmm, yeah good point; very little options in the 7-9inch range (maybe because large phones these days are close to 7"). My main use is just media consumption (when I run out of screens to watch sport), so the size isn't that big of a deal, probably better being slightly bigger in some instances… i've just decided to jump on it…if it's too big i'm sure someone will be happy to pay $200 at worst for it.

  • Anyone know what the pen writing / notetaking experience is like on these?

This tablet from Banggood for $280 with free delivery is called "Lenovo Pad 11" but seems to be the P11.

If you're looking for a tablet that has 4G LTE as well, the Alldocube iPlay 40 ($266.22 with free delivery from Banggood) has similar specs and a good review.

    • The Alldocube looks much better with twice the amount of RAM and ROM

    • I'm tossing up between the iPlay 40 and the iPlay 30 Pro, which has 1000mAh more battery but 2 GB less RAM. Only about $10 difference in price.

      • I've ordered the iPlay 40. Bigger and heavier than I what wanted but it doesn't look like there's anything decent in the 7-9 inch range.

        • There's lots of awesome looking 8" tablets in China. Just checkout AliExpress. Some of the specs are incredible.

          • @RickyJ: I had a look there but wasn't confident in them: Software, hardware or quality-wise.

            • @Dacs: and all the ones I found were only HD (1200*800 res).

  • Thanks just bought last week. I think It is going to be a great media consumption device.

    • Yeah, I don't think much else beats this for value for money. Hopefully they start shipping soon!

      • DHL delivered it Saturday. I mean for $299 this is the best value tablet. Battery is good. Sound is perfect comparing it's an tablet. I also ordered some magnetic case and tempered glass from eBay. I think I love it.

  • Guys can i buy this for my son starting high school from Lenovo education?….I dont have a edu email account…hence how would i do it??

  • its gone back up to $339 and out of stock now :(

  • Just a headsup….the lenovo duet is no substitute for a tablet. Many apps do not work on it eg Minecraft, Together. Additionally the touch screen kept stopping to work needing a soft reset each time. I've just returned one I bought for 299 on Amazon prime day.
