Hello.
I got scammed for a lot of money doing a contactless delivery on Gumtree. (Buyer used a stolen credit card).
It was a laptop, and I have personal valuables insurance which covers against theft and accidental loss.
Does anyone know if this would count as theft, given I did give the scammer the item and wave goodbye?
Personal valuables insurance doesn't cover theft if you leave something in an unlocked car for example. But this seems strange to me, because at the same time you could theoretically just lie and say you lost it.
Thank you.
