Upvote for this Soy from Doy.

    • Thanks Doy for your recommendation of Soy.

Noiiceee, my boy Doy said Bon Soy is choice which gave me joy like playing with toy koi-fishes spitting soil at Hanoi

Very splendid comment Bamboo - I must say, Hanoi ranks as my favourite city, and would rather it stays unsoiled, but if they’re just toy kois I doubt they’d be causing too much harm

  • How do you keep this after opening? There isnt a lid of some sort to close. Or is it meant to be finished in one go 💭

    • +2

I store mine in a glass bottle (something from IKEA) with a silicon lid. Seems to last a week at least which is when it's finished at home. Should be fine as long as the container is clean but agree it's a bit extra hassle

I'm using a glass bottle from Ikea also, but if you don't want to go with that approach, you can get bag clips like these which work pretty well to seal it.

Edit: Now that I think about it, any bulldog clip should work fine too.

      • I see. Thanks for that. I’m so used to keep juice and milk in their original containers 😅

        • +3

I make a small opening and fold it close after I use it. It's not like it's sucking all the germs from the neighbourhood when it's in your fridge.

Been doing that the entire life, also with dairy products, keeping them in the fridge for days. No issues.

    • I just put it in the fridge door carefully so doesn't spill. Glass bottle sounds like an ok idea, never considered that. Seems to last anyway but would use it up in 4-5 days anyway.

Hmm may grab some more, getting low. Not the cheapest but reasonable. Thanks op.

Ps have noticed Woolies have nature's own barista oat milk for $3 (instead of $4), anyone tried it? Don't know if it's new or any good, hopefully didn't just throw the word barista on it.

So why is this ozbargains favourite soy? I'm curious as I regularly consume the stuff but have never tried it.

Any strong opinions on this vs Vitasoy?
I usually get the calci plus which has added vitamins and is also made from organic soy beans.
Vitasoy Calci-Plus Long Life Soy Milk 1L https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B075TT6L1Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g…

Is cheaper and has a lid for easy opening and closing..

Honestly I can’t really tell any difference in flavour

    • So Good Barista - sublime and low cost. Try it and you pull see!

      • +2

I use the So Good Barista Soy. Currently $2/L at Woolies. (Regular $3). Cheap and does the job for my coffees. Can't bring myself to pay $4/L for soy.

  • For those that are interested in other soy milks with coffee without it splitting Happy Happy Soy Boy and Alternative Dairy Co make some decent ones that don't split and get all lumpy when it hits coffee.

    • Aren't they much more expensive?

      • Not really, about $3.80-$4 for 1L. They work very well with coffee and have a better carton design with a screw cap.

    • Can't handle soy boy, but am a fan of the alt dairy co. A lot of my locals have swapped to it, from bonsoy. Can't find it retail though.

  • +1

My go to is Coles soy. Have tried this but not to my liking. Am I a pleb?

    • I'm with you, can't bring myself to trying anything more expensive when I go through so much.

  • +2

Seems relatively pointless with Aldi consistently at $3.99?
