When I see a deal, I judge it on its own merits, not where it originated or the OP got it second hand.
Couldn't care less that the OP found it elsewhere.
If we did that Youtube would be a half its current size and TikTok about a tenth.
Some people people might be interested and have at look at the source.
Whether it's a reddit subforum, facebook group, a bargain finding site (like deku deals or pirce hipster), I think it's a good thing to cite the source.

How do I stop receiving women's fashion items from showing up in my price hipster feed? I subscribe to fashion and clothing but it only shows women's stuff. Website needs a lot of work to make it usable
On the left hand side of the website, I always type the stores I don't want to see. When you eliminate a few of the stores like Noni B and Crossroads, then the good deals start to show. But yeah, still needs work…but still a bloody good site.
This is definitely an issue that needs resolving. I have been stretched pretty thin after moving to a new house/city late last year so I've only had time to sort out urgent issues and keep things running. I'm starting to get on top of things.

From the comments above, I think you are looking for "etiquette" to credit a price tracking source (e.g. Price Hipster), if an OP discovered the deal via that channel.

The Smeg deal was a front page first off the rank pop up, and made it's way to OzBargain fairly quickly.
I'd rather people don't post deals they find on price hipster at all, half the time it's one good guys in the middle of nowhere clearing out some old stock.

Why doesn't PriceHipster have a post to Ozbargain which prefills all the deal information for you so you don't have to think?
