It's not letting me see rates without entering contact details and clicking allow sumo to call… rates are more expensive than what I'm currently paying.

    Hi OP,
Do you guys do credit enquiry when setting up a new account?

    • Yes, ID validation and credit check are processed upon application.

  • seems like better than my globird plan which I thought was always the cheapest….

Thanks for sharing. FYI, had pretty bad experience dealing with Sumo, that's all.

My only experience with Sumo is with their internet plans and it was absolutely miserable. Maybe their other utilities C/S is better, who knows.

My experience with Sumo is with their power and it was absolutely miserable from day 1, i lost my 44 cent solar feed in. they stuffed up my guaranteed solar rates and blamed Energex when in fact it was their fault. they refused to refund my overpayments. its been over 6 months after many wasted hours and hundreds of phone calls to finally get a refund even after complaining to the toothless ombudsman . never had so many issues with any another power retailers . buyer beware of their internal issues also they will do a credit check its just not worth the stress and headache. please stay away.

Contrary to the above, have been with Sumo power on two different residences.

Have only had positive interactions, call up every year checking for best rates and never had any issues. Call centre is local, and hardly any wait times, queries resolved within 10-15 mins.

Am with them for Power and Gas.

What a circus of a company (I seldom neg deals but Sumo deserves one)!
Had a billing issue with Sumo which dragged on for months with multiple call centre staff promising it would be fixed but nothing was done. Customers are given no account login, call centre has inconvenient hours and even the complaints department was completely inept, despite getting the ombudsman involved.
Fingers crossed if all goes well, as it can turn into a nightmare if you have any issues.
My experience with Sumo Energy is by far the worst I have personally had to deal with.

I'm now with the Reamped Handshake offer which are significantly cheaper and they have better service!

    • ReAmped rates are a little bit cheaper than QEnergy, but supply charge is more expensive.

  • What are the gas rates & supply charge, OP?

    • HI xiangtan, Rates vary depending on which state and area you live in. Please could you provide your Postcode and Suburb?
