  • 20% off via TopCashback with this? $20 for 1kg of Protein + Shaker seems pretty cheap if it's legit.

There's no whey this deal can be real

    • +1

Is top cash back something new?

  • +8

Worst thing MyProtein did was open up an AU warehouse. Can't get half the stuff I used to be able to get from the UK and can no longer shop the UK site to send to Australia. I know a lot of people that have moved elsewhere because of this. If you are going to expand, make sure people can get your products.

    • +1

Seriously? The one thing they had going for them was the huge range of flavors.

    • +1

100% agree. Each time I think about making an order now, there is only 1/4 of the things or flavours I want. The clear whey isolates, for example, only had 2 or 3 flavours when I last checked. The UK site had 10+ from memory.

I need to find somewhere new to buy from.

    • +1

was bound to happen, the amount they were selling for with those insane deals previously surely couldn't of been sustainable every time ozbargain got wind of it haha

    • +1

Agreed. And they've jacked up their prices to take full advantage of the AU market.
Have been paying $106.99 for a 2.5kg bag of whey isolate for a few years, and before that around $102.
      Now they're charging $129.99.
Anyone know of a descent competitor?

Bulk Nutrients do 4kg for $124. Local, so shipping is super fast too. And great customer service.

        • +2

I second bulk nutrients. WPI is excellent quality (US grass-fed cows, clean lab results time after time, chocolate and vanilla flavours never let down).

I would only be persuaded to change if there was someone putting out similar quality WPI in Australia from Aussie cows - alas, I don't think anyone in Australia makes WPI

Is Myprotein good? I often use ON. Thanks

    • +2

A few years ago I bought a bunch of different sample packs to find my favourite flavour and they all the ones I tried tasted like ass. I had the box of samples in my cupboard for 2 years after that because no one in my house could stand them.

Idk if they are better now but after wasting my money on them once, I can't go back unless it's a free sample.

      • Thanks. I am better to stick with my ON then.

    • It's fine. Some of them are awful, some of them are drinkable. They are cheap and high quality.

I go through ~5kg a month, so I churn through the awful ones quick enough that it's not a huge problem.

      • +6

5kg a month? Surely not. Even at double 30g scoops twice a day you don't even get close.

And if you are, surely your body is just wasting the majority of that, and you would want to be a stock holder in metamucil.

        • three scoops, twice a day. A lot less than '5kg' sounds like.

surely your body is just wasting the majority of that

Your body can use about .9g/lb of bodyweight per day. It absorbs 95% of what you take in, and stores the excess. The whole 'you just waste anything more than 30g' is based on 1950s broscience.

          • @jjcf: I think you might wanna look into that a bit more. I'm happy to be wrong, but I think you are literally shitting (I imagine with significant difficulty) money down the drain.

I can get behind 5lb of a protein supplement a month, but definitely not 5kg.

            • -1

              @bloopzorm9:

              I'm happy to be wrong

At least we got that settled.

              • @jjcf: Ah and here I was hoping for at least one peer reviewed source. How silly of me.

Edit: you do you man, just trying to help a brother out with some critical thinking.

                • @bloopzorm9: You expected peer reviewed sources on… ozbargain? Okay.

                  • @jjcf: Yeah, I was hoping you'd done some actual research. But that's cool, I'll stick with the science, you stick with what boofhead in the other stall told you.

It's your money, doesn't bother me what you do with it. Just trying to understand why.

                    • @bloopzorm9: Peer reviewed papers are over hyped. They primarily test methodology and a few other aspects. The findings, themselves, are still debatable. Source: I have multiple peer reviewed publications.

                      • +1

@jalwa: An over-hyped peer reviewed paper that has its findings based on a study and consistent methodology is a much better source of information than some muscle bro at the gym, or a YouTube star with a 3 week course in nutrition.

      • If you're going through it at that rate you should look at buying in bulk. I get the 20kg bags of Professional Whey WPC. It's unflavored, but it's one of the cleanest protein powder you'll find: https://www.professionalwhey.com.au/aus-whey-protein-concent…

    • try some free samples from bulk nutrients

    Used to be decent.
Recently had a pack that was stale on arrival and would not mix well at all. Like drinking glue. Clearly had issue with the seal before or during delivery.

Customer service would not have a bar of it, despite multiple emails, photos of said product etc.
No apologies, no offers for exchange or customer credit.

    Not using them again.

    • +1

Good to know, I was gonna try them. Might pass.

  • Only 6 flavours available?

    • Scotty doesn't know.

  • How do you access the $25 price?

It comes up with $53.08 if you click the link.

      • Thanks. Perhaps it is my ad blocker, but I had to hunt for the email sign up link — it's right down the bottom of the page.

        • Unable to validate form

  • just had this brand on my youtube ad

  • Damn! ordered yesterday evening and its already delivered!!
One thing I noticed is the best before date (Apr 2022) is the same as the protein I bought from them a year ago in their 55% sale, so likely sending old stock.

    • still sounds fine, you will know when protein is off smells terrible..

  • Cheers decent price I'll have a go!

    Got Banana

  • Has anyone tried the flavours? Which is more bearable? Vanilla or Chocolate?
