Is this like getting from Ali Baba, slapping your brand on it equivalent or is there Aussie engineering involved with Chinese manufacturing?

    • +1

      would like to know too

    • +7

We are a small Aussie business mate. We will develop Aussie Engineered products for sure but we are 2-3 years away from that. Currently, we are working with top CN manufacturers, testing the devices to AS/NZ standards and then bringing in top quality products at a reasonable price. Not just rebranding the Alibaba junk. The current brands that sells in Australia are mainly Chinese like Romoss, Charmast, Blitzwolf, Xiaomi all Chinese. We are the only Australian brand selling in this price range against them :)

      • +9

I found same 20000mah case with different brand in about 2mins… Techly.

So you are Australian brand bringing in Chinese product with your logo on it.

What Australian standards to you aim to meet, and how do you test they meet standards?

        • +4

Both the Power banks are tested to AS/NZ 62368.1-2018 by a CNAS accredited lab. Test reports are confidential but can be shared after a confidentiality agreement is signed. You can contact us on [email protected]. Our upcoming 100W PD charger next week has RCM certification. You can lookup on EESS database. We have 2 more PD Wall chargers to be launched in 2 months that are currently under RCM certification. Once issued, they will be available on the EESS database as well.

          • +1

@ibelievesyd: Huh? So you don't test at all? Your comment later on indicates testing is done by Alibaba seller, not conducted by you.

I genuinely wish you luck with your business. But trying to give the impression you are doing more than importing a Chinese product with you logo on it doesn't help.

            • +1

@iamherenow: Mate you asked about Australian Standards right? That's what our answer was limited to. We test performance standards ourselves of course before it is even considered for Laboratory testing. All the Alibaba seller does is send sample to a Laboratory (CNAS accredited labs). Testing to AS/NZ standards is not something you or me can do.

              • -2

@ibelievesyd: Was the testing conducted on your behalf mate?

                • +2

@iamherenow: Yes mate. Zyron Tech owns the test report. The brand, address, models, testing standards all mentioned on the test report. It is part of our due diligence. This is in addition to manufacturer's existing CE FCC & RoHS certifications

      • +2

What brand of cells are you using inside?

  • +11

Unless you are loaded and have a r&d department most ozbargain fav brands start like this i am guessing even with blitzwolf, baseus, soundpeats……? I remember soundpeats was rebranding QCY products or something?

The problem at the beginning is picking quality products, later on is scaling the business and eventually creating your own products. And obviously customer service.

At least these guys are trying to build a brand.

That said i am not buying this haha.

  • On a pure $/ mah basis how does this compare to Xaomi or other brands there?

    • These average out to 583 mAh / dollar, whereas Xiaomi are around 390 mAh / dollar. Assuming they're similar quality, this one seems to be a better deal

  • Any idea of what brand batteries these have?

    • For these 2 power banks, A-grade polymer batteries are used. The batteries are same as used by 3SixT power banks. Future power banks will be with LG/Panasonic batteries.

    • No mate. Laptops requires 60/65W power banks.

      • Thanks for the quick response, best of luck to you.

      • Should charge various Chromebooks as even 3 various Kogan 10000mAh USB C PD 18W Max all charge

various Chromebooks ( up to 14" tested ) although slowly of course. Try rep and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Golf Alibaba Powerbank with logo slapped on ~$8 USD a unit
    https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2020-New-Design-QC3-0…
I wouldn't have downvoted, but you lied about Australian R&D and rubbished Alibaba sellers which you are.

    • K.O.

    • +2

Good work finding the exact one.

OP? If this is true hard to justify the price

      • +2

I used this plugin, useful if you want to check if you can get things cheaper on aliexpress or alibaba
        https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/alibaba-search-by-…

        • +2

You really think you can get this cheaper on Alibaba mate? Even if you pay $8 usd for that even as a sample, you will pay $15 minimum for shipping to Australia and no warranty. That is $31.37 total

          • @ibelievesyd: No you can't from Alibaba, but looking at Aliexpress you can get similar ones for cheaper.

            • +6

@[Deactivated]: A WV golf looks similar to a golf R, but they are most certainly not equivalent. Especially with electronics, what it looks like doesn't mean too much.

OP seems to be trying to get a slightly more trustworthy product out at still a very cheap price. Locally stocked and some independent testing thrown in, no way I'd bother with a random Ali jobbie.

    • +5

Thank you mate for bringing this up :) We never said we do Australian R&D mate. We are a small Australian business :)

      1) You are missing 1 certificate from your previous comment, AN/NZ 62368.1-2018. Please ask them for that test report and they will send you a Test Report owned by "ZYRON"

      2) 8USD = 10.91 AUD, Add AS/NZ testing costs, Add packaging cost, Add micro USB cable cost, Add shipping to Australia, add 5% Duty, Add 10% GST, add clearance, add Amazon fee, Add local shipping fee

      3) You think it is not a deal at $19.99? Check this out:

      https://golfhk.en.alibaba.com/product/1600159700575-82652881…

      https://www.3sixtgear.com/collections/powerbanks/products/3s…

      • +5

Not just rebranding the Alibaba junk.

Yes I misread it, you said you are working on R&D

If you had been upfront about being a Alibaba reseller I wouldn't have cared as the markup is reasonable. I will retract my downvote I don't want to hurt your business, at least you admit it is a golf powerbank.

    • Awesome. I'll keep that in mind when i need 1000 of them in 10 weeks time.

Let's assume no artwork costs, no custom packaging or paperwork:

      USD8 * 1,000pc = USD8,000 EXW
      PLUS USD320 CIF (seafreight)
      = USD8,320 landed cost (~AUD11346)

      PLUS AUD567 import duty
PLUS AUD445 brokerage and clearance fees
PLUS AUD190 port to warehouse delivery
      = AUD12,548 (~AUD12.54ea)

      Amazon
      * $49.95/month listing fee
      * 7% referral fee
      * $7.50 per unit fulfilment fee (boxed lithium ion battery)
      * Average $22.50/month storage fee for Amazon-held inventory

      • +7

Please send me your agent's contact number who can provide battery shipping at USD320 for 1000X0.50kg=500kg power banks because we pay $2000. And also your custom's agent who can clear goods at only 7% because we pay 5% duty and 10% GST. Also your Amazon contact who gives you 7% referral fee because Amazon charges 12.5% and soon will be 13.5%!

        • +1

          Well done Op,
          Best of luck to you

I genuinely hope you can make it.. you're keeping overheads very low

Most people will never understand the costs involved in a business like this.

          • @dealman: Thank you mate. Really appreciate your and the Ozbargain community's support :)

  • +16

Mate this is a tough crowd to please, best of luck with your business Op.

    • +2

I think what irked a lot of people here is the impression that the OP is trying to garner sales only because they're a "small Aussie business" and some unbacked claims of some certification. For value-minded people that is Ozbargain users, we need more than knowing we're buying from a "small Aussie business" and some unbacked claims of certification to give our hard-earned money. Hence, why users have been asking (rather directly) the OP to give us more as to why we should buy from them. Tough crowd? no doubt, but this is Oz-bargain, and posters should know value is the name of the game. And also don't try to sell one thing as something else ahem a rebranded Alibaba product.

      • Mate you can request test reports at [email protected]. A confidentiality agreement will need to be signed.
As I also mentioned in previous comments, you can look up EESS register as well if you believe these are unbacked claims. After you have done either of these, please do let the community know of what you have learned :) Our next PD charger is already on the EESS register and future chargers will also be.

        • +1

My comment isn't an attack on you or your products mate. I'm just explaining to dealman a possible reason why the crowd's tough.

          • @waterbottled: Of course mate. We never considered it as an attack. I just wanted to clarify that we have backup for all our claims and how to access them. Cheers.

      • +2

Perfectly enough for me to know something is from a "small local business" if its a fair price. At least some of the profits help someone feed a few families. And I especially prefer something local and local warranty!

  • +3

Probably would have been better off just listing the product without all the sales pitch here

  • +8

I got one from an earlier sale post.
    Works well, no complaints here.
+1 for trying to do something.

  • +4

I mean, all that was said was "tested to AS/NZ standards", then spec was listed. I don't think it was oversold.

    • "Currently, we are working with top CN manufacturers, testing the devices to AS/NZ standards and then bringing in top quality products at a reasonable price. Not just rebranding the Alibaba junk."

      • There is a difference between top Alibaba products and Alibaba junk mate.

        • +2

          Of course there is.

If you want to back up your claims, tell us about the collaboration with the manufacturer for this power bank. In what way did you working with them improve the product?

      • +13

Honestly it's $20, locally stocked, and they actually get independent testing done. What on earth do you want? Some custom engineered, locally made, coldfusion power bank for this price?

OP here is just trying to explain they put on some effort (and money) to make it work.

        • +1

As far as I can tell they don't get independent testing done. It's already done by the original seller before ibelievesyd came along.

For this price I could get many different power banks. I haven't seen any reason I'd want this one.

          • +6

@iamherenow: I don't expect any Chinese OEM would test to Australian standards without being told to (could be wrong). OP said the test report has thier company on it, so makes me think it's thier work. It's a local, $20 powerbank. I'm happy to go with OP on this one.

Also having someone sit at a desk and reply to our comments costs money too. I appreciate that's all part of the package.

          • @iamherenow: Mate please contact Golf or [email protected] and ask for AS/NZ test report. You''ll get the answer you are looking for :)

      • That's just a general comment about their operational model, not to do with this product.

If you're upset about the markup on this (taking account of tax, shipping, AU support etc), you should see the true cost of a car, or mobile phone, or couch, or tv.

        • +1

Not at all upset about markup. But do dislike all the rebranded crap that is starting to show up all over Amazon.

  • Got a powerbank from the last deal and has been working well.

  • Does anyone know how to test the capacity of the powerbanks?
I did it in avery crude way by recharging my phone from 5% to 100% ( 95% of 3300 = 3135 mAh) and the Chinese power banks are nearly 60% or less than they promise. Zyron 20000mAh gave approximately 4 recharges.

This will give you an idea of how the battery capacities work. Also, if you are using your phone while charging, the efficiency is reduced further. This principle applies to all batteries whether they are from Anker, Romoss, Zyron, etc. Power banks that use LG/Samsung/Panasonic batteries gives 10-20% more charging because their batteries have higher efficiency but also twice the price.

    • +1

I got a 20,000mAh model from one of the previous specials.

It is good value: measured capacity on a digital battery tester of around 15,600mAh at 3.7V using the 5V output.

    • Capacities reported by manufacturers are based on 3.7v, not 5v which is what usb is (or higher QC/PD stabdards).

      A 20000mah powerbank won't fully recharge a 5000mah phone 4 times.

      20000mah @ 3.7v = 14800mah @ 5v
Meaning you would only be able to get just under 3 charges on a 5000mah phone (minus heat and conversion losses).

Buy a usb doctor or similar usb multimeter, they can measure the capacity whilst charging.

      • This battery pack is 15,600mAh at 3.7 V calculated from ~11,400mAh at 5V

  • any recommendations for a powerbank with faster input charging time?

  • Out of topic OP, any chance you can do a special for the 66w PD charger?

    • We had it last week mate. Next deal probably in 2 weeks time, slightly better than the last deal on the new website. Currently $47.70 at new zyrontech.com.au website (you will need to subscribe on the popup to get a 10% OFF coupon)

  • +3

    some angry ppl here

    • +3

Don’t think angry necessarily, just calling out the OP for bending some truths.

      • +1

i see i see. haven't seen these aggressive comments these days. I guess OP saying AU brand makes higher standards for ozbargainers. stay safe ppl

      • +1

Agree. Sure no one angry here. Some people challenge on behalf of the community and we are happy to answer and clarify all doubts :)

  • OP can you advise how the pass thru work please? IE. is battery by passed when it is on charge and another device is being charged at the same time?

    • You can charge your devices plugged in the Powerbank while charging the Powerbank via a wall socket.

      • +1

a different question. is device power supplied from the battery always or when the battery is full, the power from socket is used to charge the device by passing the battery?

  • Got any info on the upcoming 100W PD powerbank you mentioned, in regards to port selection, power per port, total combined power, and any indication on pricing? I could be in the market for something like that

    • Mate its not a power bank. Its a 100W USB-C desktop charger powered by Navitas chipset with SAA certification. Combined up to around 150W. Initial price around $99 and 2 years warranty.

    • We’ll be listing it on zyrontech.com.au by tomorrow for pre-order. Dispatch expected in 10-12 days

      • Ah damn was after a powerbank, do you have any plans in the future for good value 60W+ PD Powerbanks?
        Thanks

        • +1

Yes we do but won't be soon. probably at the start of January.

  • +3

OP, best to disregard the trolls.

im sure you can get any cheaper then this with QC in both input and output.

ive purchased other batteries on here with no QC for similar prices and well really this is a must these days.

  • +8

geez, some of your guys are so harsh! People here want things to be made in Australia but want to pay same as what they pay for Aliexpress junk. Best of luck OP, if the product is good and you provide genuine warranty then people will support you.

    • i would purchase these for the support of a local doing there bit to run a business. warranty is a must with this though.

im sure if my xiaomi battery packs bit the bullet and blew up i wont see any support from them.

  • +1

Mate, I love mine from last weeks order - works well, many many charges of handset (iphone SX MAX & Iphone X). (Well the Mrs does - she pretty much just leaves it plugged in).

Folks - they will take some time to charge, but comparable if you think how many charges we get out of it.

    • +1

      Same here

  • +1

    M8

  • What is the fastest time to recharge this thing?

    • Yes it does support pass through. 3.5hrs for 10000mah and 6.5hrs for 20000mah using an 18W charger

      • is 3.5hrs considered fast these days ?

        • Of course not mate but this is our starting range of power banks. We’ll add more powerful ones soon. Like we started with 66W GaN charger and now will introduce 90W and up to 150W this month :)

  • I was going to get a qc 3.0 powerbank from china for but for the same price I am happy to support a small business + shipping time + warranty.

Just a quick question. can 10000mah version support 2x devices at 18W simultaneously or just 1?

    • Can fast charge one device at a time mate. Power will be distributed if more than one with 20W max output

  • Got one last week - working perfectly so far on every Apple handset I've tried, the 18W Apple fast charge works with an official USB-C to lightning cable. Thanks guys.

    • Thank you Carti. If you purchased from Amazon, please leave a review on AMZ. It will really help others and us as well :)

  • +1

ordered! hopefully its a good product and if any issues after sales service if needed is there ….good luck!

    • Thank you :) Please leave us a review if you like it. You can reach out via zyrontech.com.au contact section, email or via facebook page as well for after sales. Zyron is based in North Rocks 2151

  • Bought one to support you even though I have too many of these already.

    EDIT:

Actually, I'll wait for the lower price like last time. :p

    • haha mate you might have to wait till Christmas :P

  • I’m not a fan of the aesthetics at all in regards to either of those two power banks, but I’ve upvoted as a deal to dissuade the trolls and I honestly do believe they’re good value.

    Best of luck with it.

  • 410grams for the 20k? Why so heavy

    • Because its real capacity li-polymer battery mate :) If it is not in 400g range (20000mah) then its a fake capacity Powerbank (unless the power bank has 21700 battery)

      • Both romoss and xiaomi have ~340g 20k powerbanks. (They also have heavier ones)

  • Bought two of 20000mAH couple weeks ago when it was on special for the upcoming camping trip. Tested yesterday and it was able to charge the iPad Mini from 0% to 85% in 2.5 Hrs using standard lightning cable. Not bad at all!

    • Thanks mate. We would really appreciate if you could please leave a review on Amazon :)

  • Hi

I bought the 10000 version, weirdly it does not seem to work with my Pixel4a. I'm using the original USB-C cable from the 4a, when charging it my 4a just continuously reboots. Seems to work fine on my 4. When switching to non type-c cable it charges my 4a, but then I lose the fast charge. Anyone else have this issue?

My 4a works fine with other powerbanks/chargers with the same cable.

  • @ibelievesyd

Hey there, was going to pick one of the 10000mah up this morning as they seem very compact.

Looks like the sale has ended

Appreciate your passion and hope you aren't too put off by the passionate bargain hunters on here.
