Seems so cheap (maybe I have been conditioned after PS5 pricing of other games) for such an interesting game.

    • +3

RRP is only $99.95 I think, as opposed to $119.95 for other new releases

      • +4

I think it's mostly Sony's first party games that have been pushing that $119 price point. Most 3rd party stuff has been around $99 - $109.

  • +1

Meh, i'll wait till it's on Xbox Game Pass thanks………………………

    • +3

      It’s only for PS5 & PC

      • +13

It's only a timed exclusive, it will go to Xbox eventually.

        • +4

          Ok didn’t know that sorry

        • +1

1 year at the very least before it comes out on Xbox

      • +4

Wow ozbargainers don't seem to have a sense of humour anymore, i know it is a timed exclusive and will be coming to xbox eventually, which is why i used so many dots at the end……………………………… i would have used the spongebob squarepants "1 year later" meme if i thought i needed it lol

    • +1

      Haha keep waiting bud

      • -8

Wow, imagine being the person that refers to other people as "bud"

        • +6

What wrong with using bud, buddy?

          • @FireRunner: Only seen it used to show disrespect and a feeling of superiority. It is an insult in all cases i have personally seen it used.

            • +3

@lordezekiel: It's not necessarily an insult. You could use any synonym (pal, friend, mate, etc.) as a mild insult if used sarcastically

    • Agreed, imagine paying full price

  • +1

Anyone else think this game looks really boring? Probably just me as it seems to have a bit of hype but I just don't see it.

    • +5

Nah, Arkane games are all great

    • It looks decent. I'm a big fan of dishonored series which is what the core gameplay looks like.
Enemies in the trailers also remind me of bioshock's splicers for some reason which is also another favourite game
The time loop is the game's unique feature, it's apparently not strictly timed like in Majora's Mask so I'm wondering how it's implemented and if it works well.

    • If you know the gameplay loop from Dishonoured, this game looks like they turned the save/reload gameplay style of Dishonoured into the game itself, like when they implemented quicksave/reload in D2.

I think it will be fun to see the eventual speedruns.

Don't pre-order games before any reviews come out.

    • +4

In what bizarre world are we for this comment to be downvoted?

      • +1

The whole "pre order bad" mentality is imported from the US which has weaker customer rights where you can't just return it if it sucks.

In Australia it is usually always cheaper to preorder, even if there is a review embargo untill after Amazon sends it out, you can just return it if it sucks.

        • +2

"Pre-ordering bad" is a global sentiment, it doesn't matter if you can refund it or not, you lose time, effort, bandwidth and pay opportunity costs for an inferior product, and it incentivises the publisher to take the "it's COD/Star Wars/Whatever, it'll sell well regardless" mentality.

The point you make about weaker consumer rights is fair but a different kettle of fish - agree that consumer rights should be better globally, if that's what you're referencing.

As for your other point - it is almost never cheaper to preorder a game - games go on sale and diminish in value over time.

          • @Charlie Sierra: It's cheaper to pre-order a game if you want it on Day One and you have Amazon's price guarantee policy. Plus Amazon doesn't charge you until they ship.

I agree that in general it's not a good idea (Cyberpunk is a good recent example of that). I'm less likely to pre-order now than in the past but generally just weigh up the risk vs reward.

    • +1

You're completely right, but you're able to cancel Amazon preorders before the game releases (but after reviews are out) without penalty.

So preordering now just locks you at this price if it increases later.

      • +2

That is if the embargo on reviews lift before release.
Some publishers don't allow reviews to release until release date, by then it would be too late.

        • +1

Notably Bethesda has done that before for at least Doom 2016.

        • Fair call. If it ends up going that way and also ends up being a trainwreck I can probably sell it off for a $10/$20 loss a week or two after release.

          • @theknight27: You can just return it to Amazon for a full refund if it sucks, how do so many people not know that?

The whole "pre order bad" mentality is imported from a country with weaker customer rights where you can't just return it if it sucks.

            • @Vinodra: Yeah that too, that's more on Amazon's customer service though, you'd have a hard time returning to Big W or Harvey Norman if you just "didn't like" them.

              • @theknight27: EB Games accept change of mind returns within 7 days.

                • +1

@sween64: The only time I buy a full priced game at EB is when I know I'm going to return it within 7 days…

  • -6

    If you don't pre-order this, you're racist.

    • +3

I think you are the one with racial physiological issues for writing such a comment in the first place.

  • +1

Great price but worried it'll get delayed…

    • It went gold about 12 hours ago, so it's coming out.

      • +2

Didn’t Cyberpunk 2077 get delayed after going gold?

        • +3

If it wasn't it probably should have been.

          • @AngusD: Cyberpunk would still be delayed today

        • Yes but that's the only time it's ever happened as far as I can tell. And a special case where it was clearly nowhere near ready to release, even after the delay. Deathloop appears to be a normal game.

  • +10

Isn’t this a condition on certain LG phones

  • This looks like an awesome game, go check out the super detailed informative 101 things you need to know about deathloop on YouTube. The amount of information is staggering. Also this will be day 1 on game pass when it comes to xbox.

    • +2

It's a one year exclusive, so Xbox players will be getting it in September 2022
It would be cool if it gets added to the PC game pass when it launches on PC this year

      • -1

Oh damn, I didn't realise it was a 1 year timed exclusive. Oh well heaps to play on game pass like curse of the Dead gods, the ascent and soon hades.

  • -2

Will wait a year for gamepass, not in a rush plus i will get the 'patched' game too.

  • +1

It's expected to come out on Xbox in September 2022 due to the 1yr exclusivity signed by Sony/Bethesda before Microsoft bought it.

It is highly likely it will be Game Pass day one, given the Microsoft owns the game, but if you want to play it in the first year you will need to play on PS5.

However, it does look like it will be coming to PC alongside PS5, so there is still a small chance it will be included on the PC Game Pass.

  • Mighty Ape now out of stock.

  • +1

Now $79 at Amazon, but if you pre-ordered you'll pay the lowest price.
