hi all, been looking for a <$1500 mid range gaming build with a 3060, last build i saw was this one:

just wondering if there's anywhere like that build (or the card on sale by itself for <$800 so I can build a pc for under 1500 with a 3060 in it)

There don't seem to be any. I wonder if nVidia is prioritising making higher end chips at the moment since the 3060ti/3070/3070ti are the same core, and they bin them differently depending on results (disable cores and sell them as 3060tis). Makes sense as they make more money that way. Likely the 3050 and 3050ti will come out later down the track and we'll see more 3060s on the market.
You can get a 3060 ti for $850. For the minimal extra cost, it's definitely worth it, at least 20% better. Unless you can get a 3060 for $600-650 and plan to only game at 1080p (or have a lot of games that support DLSS) it's really not worth the savings.

Alternatively BPC have a system with a 6700 XT for $1,580 (again, a little over budget, but worth it) -https://www.bpctech.com.au/kp-fenrirgaming-kraken-power-fenrir-gaming-build-with-rx6700xt-v2.html - only reason to get a 3060 over that is if you know of any games you want to run with RT + DLSS, but again the 3060 isn't a great chip for ray tracing at all because it's so far behind the 3060 ti.
Worth noting that BPC build has a lot of improvements too, faster CPU, faster/bigger harddrive, better PSU and IMO a nicer case along with the faster GPU. I didn't look very hard for it either, might be others out there.
