It’s another proof of product like the one Medicare send you. You could ask why would THEY? In time these will be useful. But hey there’s no reason to do it now. You can do it anytime you like, for example when you are queuing to check into your next flight somewhere.

If or when there is a need to show evidence of vaccination, it will almost certainly come along with a defined solution for retaining the evidence. This will most likely be an app or similar, provided by a company with links to the LNP, that will be at great taxpayer expense, and will be the only acceptable evidence.
Or, Qantas will have their own solution, and UK Immigration will have their own solution, and USA Immigration will have their own solution, etc.
It will probably be a passport stamp on your way out.
The yellow fever vaccine is currently mandated by a number of South American countries. For that your doctor just gives you an official looking piece of paper to present alongside your passport

According to some news reports today, the Federal government is considering a "QR code solution" (whatever that is, as a QR code is just a link). No doubt a consultant has mentioned this new technology to them.
But, even that would only apply for Australians returning from overseas.
It amazes me how quickly the people are willing to relinquish their freedoms.
