Noticed a designer clearance shop in Sydney CBD (next to Subway in Bathurst St – old LA Luggage Building) and just wondering if anyone else knows of this place. I had a look and the prices seemed very cheap (eg mens' Versace shoes for $120). They sell the usual range of designer labels, Boss, Versace, Bulgari etc. I looked at a pair of Versace shoes and I've got to admit they did look very well made but the thought of "genuine or not" did linger. I ended up not buying on this occcasion(these shoes probably retail at >$1000 – so $120 did seem "too good to be true").
I guess I was wondering if any one else has been there and their thoughts on the merchandise.

Can't say whether this shop is genuine or not, but in Europe and America it's very common to find shops selling last season items from name brands for a lot less. They are usually leftover stock from last season, or returns from customers, or catwalk cast-offs. As the above statement said, a lot of these brands don't want to "devalue" their own brand by having a sale instore so they devolve it to others to get rid of it for them.
There is a designer clearance place in chatswood, and it sells fake ralph lauren etc. best avoided, because the prices are not very good anyway.
I reckon it's highly unlikely to be genuine - simply because name brands do NOT discount, and they do NOT sell seconds. That's because the brand means everything and they won't devalue the brand.
That said, I have absolutely no idea whether teh stuff in this new store is genuine or not.
