Do they do boot delivery or contact free click and collect?
They do click and collect, where you give your name and proof of identity eg. driver's license. They will then give you your box of food.
Source: I work there.
Thanks. Trying to avoid all shops. If they did boot delivery I would have got this.
Yeah, never been asked or told if we do boot delivery. Don't think we do, never seen it happen for the 2 years I've been working there. The only form of 'boot delivery' is if you need help bringing groceries to your car, but that's if you're in the store.
@CrispyChrispy: Do you know what HF do with veg waste? Do they give it to farmers to compost, etc.?
Can individuals pick up a big load for compost?
@ihbh: if you're interested in sending your veg waste, try this site: https://sharewaste.com/ to see where others can accept your veg waste near you..
@melty: Thanks, interesting site. I'm in receiving veg waste.
2 QLD stores
Great price! No going anywhere near a HF though… Worth it if you are.
They've increased the delivery fee from $5 to $15

At this price….Well cover me in Honey and throw me to the ………
is there some squeeze bottle or something that I can put honey in? Always find it messy to use out of a tub…
Buy an initial squeeze bottle of honey and then refill when needed.
good idea thanks :)
Pro tip: got allergies (ie hay fever)? Buy honey that’s made from local bees. Your body will cope better with your allergies after a while.
I prefer honey made from pollen.
I've never heard of honey made from pollen. I prefer the bees to source from nectar.
question is where can you buy them? and how would you know they are from local bees….
Local famers markets? They have local honey at mine.
IGA. They have a great range of local produce in general, E.g. I know mine have coffee beans from a local roaster.
is this a critical service?
A grocery store… I'd say yes.
Irrelevant as exists in non-lockdowned locations…
Pure honey, not raw honey. So much of the nutrition was probably killed when it was heated and pasteurized.
How much is 1kg of raw honey?
About 1000 grams .
dont you mean exactly 1,000,000 milligrams
like genuine leather….
Is there a way to check that they did not just buy a huge barrel of cheap imported honey and put it in nice little tubs with an "Australian Honey" label?
No, but Harris Farm have a reputation for sourcing local Australian produce (when available, in season). For non-Australian produce, they usually include the country of origin on the price tickets in store.
From the label:
Produced in the Central West of NSW by beekeeper Grant Lockwood, this honey has a smooth buttery finish.
How do we know Grant Lockwood isn't a cheap imported apiarist?
You don't. All of those labels are self-declared. Just like all nutritional labels. It is only when there is a serious complaint would the gov or 3rd party intervene - it is not by default like most people assume.
Grant sounds foreign to me.
The late Grant Lockwood:

I just recently got a pot from the QLD West End Harris Farm's markets and it's from a local supplier in Queensland.

Must be as you say they're sourcing locally at least within the state.
I don’t see what all the buzz is about here…
Back on sale.
Still available in broadway Harris
Great price, but it doesn't state what kinda honey it is? Red Gum? Jarrah? etc.
