Difference between IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook Model 82B80006UX & 82B8000RAU

Hi all

Pretty much as the title of the forum says. I have found two separate Chromebooks on Amazon and appear to be pretty much identical but have different model numbers.

Is it that one is because it's US and the other AU hence the model numbers?

Titles on Amazon of the two units I am looking at are:

Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 13 Inch Laptop, 13.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) Touch Display, Intel Core i3-10110U Processor, 4GB DDR4 OnBoard RAM, 64GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics, Chrome OS, 82B80006UX, Graphite Grey - $542 coming from the US

Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 13" Laptop, 13.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) Touch Display, Intel Core i3-10110U Processor, 4GB DDR4 OnBoard RAM, 64GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics, Chrome OS, 82B8000RAU Graphite Grey - $559 here in Australia

Cheers

  • Interestingly, HN sell the 6UX model, and GG's sell the RAU model

    • As do JB (the RAU) model that is.

      • Yeah, and OW sell the 6UX model (for $557)

        • +1

All as clear as then….maybe trying to avoid the price match by having different model numbers for the same product.

      • Ooh wait, buy from Bing Lee for $519 (RAU model)

They both look the same from what I can see!

        • I am going to see if JB will beat Bing Lee

  • 4gb ram, and 64gb ssd, are they upgradable?

    • My take from prior deals that people have posted is that they aren't upgradeable. A blow for some I expect but I am looking at this as a device for the daughters school so not being upgradeable isn't a big problem.

    • Highly unlikely. It uses eMMC for disk storage and that is typically soldered to the main board.
