$1.25 price increase for 100g more for Pork Buns. The question is if it the flour increase or filling. See like they dropped the Sui Mai name but increase it from 200g to 480g now.

It works out the same per gram. Just bigger packaging/quantity and microwavable packaging.

      • Previously: 200g for $2.50 (Half Price) = $1.25/100g
      • Now: 300g for $3.75 (Half Price) = $1.25/100g

See like they dropped the Sui Mai name but increase it from 200g to 480g now.

      They are 2 different products

missed the clearance on old stocks… how cheap were they ?

  • Hmmm. I'm a buyer of the pork siu mai myself and yep, along with the change in packaging, there's a change in size and price. My usual (on special) price for it is $2.50 for 200gms. So it's the same situation with the pork buns. $1.25 more for 100 gms.

At half off pricing, that makes $1.25/100gms for both the 200gm pack as well as this 300gm pack.

Yep, basically the same price per gram; just bigger with new microwavable packaging.

  • Thanks, my MIL likes the 4 packs but Woolworths no longer stocks 4 pack only6 mini packs. She doesn't like the 6 packs as it's too small and too much skin less fillings. Might get this for her to try while waiting for the Tak Hing to go sale.

Not sure if still talking food or abs

  • I think a lot of their stuff is currently on sale for half price at Coles.

  • How are they quality wise compared to say yumcha restaurant quality?

For pork buns.. these are alot sweeter.

      • Damn not for me then. Don't like overly sweet pork buns

    those are Sum Ting Wong.

Best to get better quality ones from Asian grocery stores.

Have never seen the custard buns in person, would love to try when they come to my locals

    • keen - only porkchive at my online local :/

  • Is it just the packaging that's changed, or the actual product itself?

Very happy to buy Australian owned & made, just hoping that it's still as tasty as I remember the old ones being.
