I was at Flight Centre the weekend just gone and they were telling me how wonderful they were, needless to say I passed based on previous bad reports.

"Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has offered to try to help stuck travellers.
"Jetstar is looking at adding supplementary services to help those passengers,’’ Mr Joyce told the Seven Network. He said Qantas would also try to add services.
"If the (Air Australia) passengers come to a Qantas desk, a Jestar desk, show their ticket, we’ll give them a ticket for the same value they’ve paid with Air Australia, so they don’t have to pay anymore and they can try and recover that fare from their travel agencies or their credit card suppliers,’’ he said."
+1 to QANTAS.
Is Alan_Joyce an OzBargain member?
With the amount of money he is making I doubt it - he does seem to be a very intelligent man with balls though
Strategic Airlines aka Air Australia did run additional flights during the Qantas grounding last October, so you would have expected Qantas to do the same back.
Regret posting up the previous bargain on Air Australia now for anyone affected.
More jobs gone bye bye :(
This happens all the time, the reality is unemployment is at a record low and getting better.

File it under "when ozbargaining too much goes bad"
I was hours away from flying to Hawaii with them, knew it was risky but worth it for the money saved (paid on credit card so will get it all back).
Waiting for the media to pick up the stories on the poor holidaymakers who 'forgot' to get travel insurance and who want either Qantas or the Australian Government to fly them home free of charge.
You can make any case seem (almost) reasonable when you are running a newspaper. Sadly.
My wife and I got back from Honolulu last week after flying Air Australia for our honeymoon. They weren't a bad airline, the aircraft was a bit old compared to the new planes but the staff were nice. Didn't appear like there were any thing wrong at the time, the flights to and from Honolulu were both quite full.
We did have travel insurance though, although others may not be so lucky!
Scoopon have setup a help page for those stranded.
Scoopon partenered with Air Australia in a deal from July 2011 to offer a $600 RT fare to Phuket, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48898
Scoopon should refund any unused fares but I'm surprised to see there is a rep at Phuket airport.
Apparently leaving 350 people stranded without a flight home from Thailand. Wouldnt it be a great PR exercise for QANTAS to offer free flights back home for those affected, either by filling existing vacant seats, or a special charter. Sure it would cost them, but that would have to be good both commercially and politically.
