Good family weighted Marvel board game or a good 'gateway' game seems to be the consensus. As for the base game, it has about 2-3 hours of game play/content. It is a game that will get better when all the expansions come out over the next year.
Very much so. I got in on the kickstarter and have really enjoyed it. It's quite hard to win against the villains but is fairly simple to learn and play with friends.
You can use different combinations of villains and heroes to have different experiences which prolongs game play.
For those who missed out, price is $35 again.
Excellent co-op game for my young daughter and me. It's fun to play and easy to learn.
Great price - I bought it after seeing the camels alert.
Looks like they are price-matching Catch who also has for $35 + delivery / club catch

thanks OP. This will make a nice addition to the Xmen United kickstarter I just backed a few weeks ago!
regardless of the game, it's quite a decent price to get just the mini's in it, particularly if you like the art style.
how many minis does the base game come with?
It's in the Amazon listing. 7 heroes and 3 villians.
Heads up, the sequel X-Men series is still available for late pledging. You get about 60 minis for US$60. You can also order the older expansions and even get the original kickstarter minis set with another 60 or so characters. What you can't get is this base set.

So the X-Men series is a new standalone with expansions game? Can it be mixed in with the this Classic?
The X-Men is a stand alone, everything else is an expansion.
The game can be mixed and matched in most cases as long as you have A standalone set (either this or X-Men). That is you can have any hero fight any villain. Although some of the expansions do set up unique scenarios like the Infinity Gauntlet and Sinister Six has you fighting against a group of bad guys who need to be played together.
But yeah if you want to play a game with Cyclops, Cap, Iron man and Cable vs the Red Skull, go for it.
I have all the original release - base + all the expansions and I've found you probably should paint them. The number of characters, and the blue/redness of it all gets pretty over whelming in their blandness and it makes it hard to choose who you should play. Once I painted them, it was much easier to choose, particularly my non-nerdy friends (who also enjoy playing the game).
Thanks for the detailed reply!
I'll probably just stick with the classic base game and see what I get on the second hand market.
Cheers
So do you still get all the stretch goals with Pledgit?
Yes for the X-Men campaign it's the same as it is for kickstarter backers during the campaign.
You can get everything from the previous Marvel United campaign as well excluding the core box (this deal) of which there are two versions, one with Wasp generally available and one with Venom that is/was walmart exclusive and seems to be rarer.
Yeah but if you get the Kickstarter bonus from the previous campaign, you get Venom anyhow,
Back to $52.12?
Price is $35 again
Now 53
Game any good?
