[SYD] Emirates 10% off Promo Code (No Sub Req)

190
AUSSO01

UPDATED: Sydney Symphony Orchestra's 10% promo code AUSSO01

The promo code is provided by Sydney Symphony Orchestra but requires no actual subscription for the code to work (as anyone in Sydney could be considered a patron of the SSO).

I also recommend joining Emirates' Skywards for free, as you can earn 12000 points per person with these flights (2 people = 24000 points which is almost a flight to NZ)

Also getting a Citibank Emirates Platinum Card for first year free you can get perks like lounge access and chauffeur to the airport.

I looked at pricing. No cheaper for the flights i looked at than Qantas and, having flown them, I'd want a discount in comparison.

    • Kidding right? Emirates is so far superior to Qantas its not funny.

      • Nope. Loudest plane I've yet been in. Possibly the second worst level of service I've encountered on an airline.

        I'll pass.

Yeah ummmm, Boeing and Airbus make the planes, pretty much the same planes as all the other carriers out there. Unless Emirates are stripping wall lining out of their planes etc…

Emirates are a 4 star Airline, unless you're flying one of the five 5-star airlines, Emirates are looking pretty good, for service and quality.

I'm pretty sure they can choose the specs they want to minimise costs. I've not experienced the noise levels that I copped on my Emirates flight with any other airline. They've all been fairly consistent. Emirates was interesting and unique (so far) in that they were clearly louder the closer you got to the wall of the plane (ie window seat the loudest). That makes sense but it's not something I've copped on any other airline.

No idea what whoever gives stars to airlines thinks of the ones I've flown. All I can go off is my personal experience with them and I wouldn't choose them unless I had to. They are not the worst I've flown (that belongs to Swiss Air) but they are not ones I would "yeah, why not?" to, either.

  • Emirates don't make planes so it's pretty tough of you to describe them as the loudest..

  • This is awesome, so glad they threw this out there, was about to buy flights to Cairo, now I can save 10% with this code, saves me almost $200! Big thanks to OP

Really glad to be of help. We bought 2x ticks to Paris and saved almost $400.

If you're already planning to fly with Emirates anyway it's an awesome code.

      • It was, I was planning emirates as I want to stop in Dubai for a few days on the way home, and then catch an A-380 back to Sydney! So yes, this is great. Awesome that you saved also :)

  • Thanks very much OP.
This is great and timing is perfect. We are looking at booking 2 return tickets to Dublin and were looking to fly with Emirates. The problem is that when we put our dates in, the price is still $4300 which is cheaper than it would be without the code, but if the example of $1642 above is correct, then it doesn't add up.
I would have thought that the price should be $3284.
Am i doing something wrong here?

EDIT: Never mind i think I've worked it out. The $1642 price seems to be only for flights which include 2 stopovers on the way back to Sydney. For us we are willing to pay a bit more and have only 1 stopover each way.
Nevertheless, great deal, thanks again OP. Saved us $430.

    • Glad you sorted it out. :)

  • OK, so I've been a long-time lurker and finally bit the bullet and created an account so I could comment on this.

HUGE thanks, OP! Saved a very significant $554 on return flights to Athens (2 adults, 1 kid, 1 infant) that I was about to book anyway.

FYI The CSR I spoke to during the day told me the Emirates early bird/new year sale has been extended 'til Tuesday.

    • Really happy to help. :) thanks for the update, I have adjusted the expiry.

So at this level of service and carrier grade can an Economy passenger do a 'Boonie' - ie drink as much as they like of the provided alcohol ( read small bottles of spirits) - as long as they don't bother other passengers and stay in their own seat?
