    Resolution: FWVGA (854 x 480)

    Edit: beaten

At this resolution, you do not want to display anything at 100".

I would spend a little more and get a larger-sized Full-HD projector from China from a brand like vivibright. Have had a lot of great summer movie nights with it.

    • Link?

      • There's been good deals on this model (which apparently is sold under different brands), and on Aliexpress you can search for the Vivibright F30 and F40.

        • Waiting vp6 or vp9 for sale.

        • +1

Does that even have a battery? That's just a nasty chinese projector with a completely different use case. I have a nice BenQ for the lounge room if I want to watch a movie in high quality while plugged into mains power.

The thing Aldi is selling is more like a portable bluetooth speaker that produces an image, it's not something that you would use day to day.

    • +1

This one is more for portable , 2.5hr just enough for one movie.

Looks like this one: M5 Smart Pico

    • Wow, not bad for $100.

      • One comment on that YouTube said saw at aldi Australia for $300, a year ago.

      • +2

Yeah!I got one last time in 2019 they were $249 then. Its fine still going, use it every day, good picture with just blinds closed during the day. You can plug a 500 GB external HDD via USB easily. Only complaint is it has to be charged, doesn't run when plugged in until charged. (Though for some reason using a portable charger extended power up to 4 hours.)

  • I have this… Its great for camping trips!

    • +1

      … in the backyard.

      • +1

Awesome for watching the footy outdoors via wifi has Android and you can add FV app for TV. I have to figure a way to connect a google TV.

    • Exactly, I don't know why people are expecting FHD for a $100 battery powered projector. I have a Nebula Capsule that cost 5 times this much and is basically the same thing. Awesome for camping or the backyard.

      • +3

At least 720p would be nice, would even pay $20 more for a battery. I would say the Nebula is a class above the Aldi variety projector.

    • +2

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of camping?

      • +1

this! Who takes a movie projector camping for goodness sake?

        • +3

Someone who like nature and want to get from his her / house out ? Maybe noisy partners and children

        • +5

People with kids. People who like to watch large format pornography in the bush. There's a gamut of people this is handy for.

          • @Buyingcrap: I'm people with kids, but i dont fit into the second category so will defer to you on that one

      • doesn't camping defeat the purpose of living in a house?

    • Were U projecting at a sleeping sheep or an albino cow?

      • Wool works better than leather

      • I use one of the "foldable projector screens" from ebay. It's basically a flexible white sheet that I string up across the caravan annex. Works well and stores in an old chamois tube.

  • Does it have built in speakers?

    • -2

      Watch the YouTube link

    • -3

      No…

    • +2

Yes. But don't expect a JBL 4. I do plug in my JBL 4 with the internal headphone socket.

  • While we're on the topic of projectors, anybody have a Anker Apollo and able to provide their thoughts?

That one got very good review just incase someone need higher resolution

    • They sell reviews for discount. Check metareviews and last time that was posted on ozbargain…

  • They sold this for $299 a couple years ago. Unbelievable.

I hope this sits on the shelf and ends up on clearance

From its user manual, the brightness is only 50 Lumens max, quite low. But this Kogan one "Kogan 3000 Lumens HD Wi-Fi Mini Projector (M500)" is marked as 3000 lumens. Really?

  • The Aldi catalogue has this as an online special only and not available in store. Delivery to Brisbane metro was 12.99 extra.

  • I remember seeing them unsold for a while after it went on sale the last time ALDI had it. I was tempted but the price had put me off. Wondering if they are worth it at the new price point?

  • no HDMI input for my mini-SNES :(
still looking for a small DC powered projector with bluetooth audio output, and HDMI and usb input.

  • +1

    OOS?

  • None on my local omg already risking my life going out got nothing….

    • It was online and they were gone by 9ish. Next year….

      • I couldn't get one at 831… Wouldn't let me add to cart. Anyone have any luck? Disappointed!

  • Any equivalent options? The two up thread aren't really the same.

  • +1

Was one of the lucky ones that got one! I almost returned this as the App Store they want you to use aptoide is a bit doggy on it.

I couldn’t download anything to start with with but after two resets I got it to work

For $100 it does do everything it says. But as other comments say there are better alternatives with better quality features for little bit more money.
