Does this include purchases at the education lenovo site?

    • Also does it work for those price i negotiate with the staff on the websitr?

      • negotiated price is still ordered through www.lenovo.com/au/en, so I assume it does.
I just placed an order but only look $1 authorisation, so no email from amex as yet

      • confirming that I got my cashback buying through the negotiated with the staff on their website.

        • Mind if I ask if you've got your cashback notification after they've charged your amex? I'm looking at a custom build but it says ships in more than 8w so I'm not sure if I will be able to use this offer :(

          • @AlgoTrading: I placed an order 2 weeks ago, got my amex notification immediately although the charge was in "pending" status. It remained in pending even after a week until I cancelled my order (because it would ship in October).

            • @tukanglistrik: Thanks. I've placed an order and immediately got a notification as well

              • +1

@AlgoTrading: I believe you won't get the credit if it's delivered in 8 weeks, because the pending charge won't be confirmed until it ships

    • Comments from past deals seem to confirm subject to the item being shipped on time.

    • Just confirming a purchase made via chat with education pricing. Custom order potentially up to 6 weeks to deliver. I just made payment and the AMEX rebate email triggered.

      • Did you do the chat through the regular site and asked for price match to edu price?

        • I have an edu account. I couldn't get chat to work so I called. Either option leads to the same sales staff. They look at your cart id and if you have an edu priced item they work off that.

You can certainly try to get edu pricing match without an account but if it were that easy, why have edu prices at all?

          • @boretentsu: I have an edu account as well. Just worried that amex wouldn't count it as a lenobo purchase

Cashrewards 13% cashback, could be time to pull the trigger.
    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/lenovo

    • Yeah but we need deals with coupon, and registered as cashback too. Still plenty of time until end of August though.

    • You should definitely try to negotiate on chat first to see if you can get a price better than 13%. Even if you can negotiate only, say, 10% you might want to consider whether it's worth the saving up front rather than waiting for clearance and then having to cash out.

  • My card doesn't have the offer. $249pa and not one good offer has it ever had. This deal would have been sweet.

    • What's your card? Mine is Platinum Edge and It's also $249 pa but I have this offer showing up.

      • Qantas Premium

        • i got it on my Qantas premium,
wonder if TA can organise a good deal which can utilise this statement credit

    • Did you manage to get this offer?
My Qantas premium doesn't have it neither…..

  • Any direct link for offer?

    Hi Guys,

Which of the Lenovo model would suits to replace my Surface Book 1? I already have the surface dock connexted to two Dell monitors so would need to add Lenovo dock.
    Thanks

  • I haven't been hit by a targeted ad from AMEX in a long time - do I need to enroll or something? :( They never message me.

    • It's not an ad for me - just in the offer section when you log into their online portal.

  • Waiting for Legion 5 Pro with 3070 to go on sale…

    • now available with 5800H customisation. best price I managed via chat wat ~2400. using this offer on top would be nice.

      • Do you have a quote for this? When did you get it?

        • Yes but can't access personal email. I'd imagine any sales person can offer it. Got the quote this morning around 0900

      • Is this with 32gb as well?

        • nah usual (16GB, 512GB) with just the CPU and GPU change

Just an FYI: Lenovo charges 20% restocking fee if you end up returning your order. I had to wait over 2 months for a custom built order (ram upgrade from 8 to 16gb) and since I needed a laptop asap, I couldn't wait 2 months. Not the best customer experience by Lenovo to be frank.

  • The terms say that you can cancel your order if it's on backorder, although not sure if that also means items made to order. But to be fair custom built is specifically built for you, so if you cancel the order then Lenovo would need to disassemble it.

    • I was not able to cancel my order even when they exceeded the time limit of the delivery. 20% restocking fee is applicable to all of their return orders regardless if it's custom built or not. Bit doge for my liking.

      • Usually restocking fee applies when you return the item after it's been shipped, because they will need to reassess if there's any damage or missing parts. Maybe try to call them to cancel the order?

  • Multiple transactions are considered towards spend limit.

Assuming you get laptop of $1200 on 13 July , Bag for $350 on 20 July and Keyboard $ 275 30 July. Now, if

    Laptop shipped on 15 Aug then $1200 calculated towards 1499 [ 299 remaining ]
Keyboard does not ship for some reason
Bag shipped on 31 Aug then $350 calculated towards 1499 [ You are eligible for credit ]

Hope this helps others to spend wisely :)

  • Just bummed this was released just after the X1 deals expired! Would have been a decent discount!

    • You can attempt to negotiate via chat. You might be able to get close or even better.

  • Still worked out to be pretty much the same if I buy the same unit with Amex Cashback and 13% cash back from Cashrewards.

I asked the online agent for the best price and got this below. works out to be much cheaper with amex $200. (I saved a screenshot of order screen with has AU levono website in case I have any issues with amex later on), It is EPP price tho.

      • Sorry for a silly question but what is EPP price? Thanks

        • employee partner portal, I believe are the companies that has partner program with lenovo

  • Hi, I'm looking for a new laptop. Mostly for word processing, internet etc. Like the idea of being able to game though.

Want something that will last a while. Was thinking I'd spend approx $1000 but contemplating whether to go to $1500 to take advantage of this deal.
Any recommendations for a model around $1500? What would be the biggest performance difference compared to something closer to $1000?

Very much a laptop noob. Been a long time since I bought one. Appreciate any help or suggestions out there.

  • Sorry but how do I check if I am included in this offer?
Just got my AMEX approved last week and waiting for it to arrive my doorstes….

    • +1

Login to your amex online, you should see offers that can be saved.

      • Thank you for your reply.
Will do that when I receive my card πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

      • Just received my card and activated it however didn't see this offer under my account….oh well

  • Has anyone had much success negotiating a better price through chat? I've tried requesting the same price that was available on the X1 Carbon through the THINKJULY promotion that just expired, but the agent told me it's not possible.

  • Would this deal have reached a limit or something?
It showed on my account, when I registered it showed an error.
I tried a few times, then logged out and back in again, and the offer was gone.

  • Would be cool if you could actually ship thinkpads out before end of August. They're all showing as 6-8 weeks to ship, which doesn't meet the offer here.

    • Try to alter your configuration. If you stick to predefined standard or minor changes they take between 2-3 weeks.

  • If anyone wants this offer but it's not appearing on the app, call the customer service they can add it manually to your account.

    • Not having luck for the two calls I made.
Gonna give it another try tomorrow.

  • Can anyone please confirm if Education store purchase qualified for this offer?
I have tried several online chat asking them to pricematch Education store price (which I have access to) but no luck…….

    Thanks in advance!

    • Definitely is. I just placed an order and got the Amex Email confirming the cashback as soon as Lenovo processed the transaction.

      • Thanks for your confirmation.
Now I will need to try my third time asking an AMEX agent to add the offer to my card.
