Razer Blackwidow Lite Mechanical Keyboard - Black $99 Delivered (RRP $169.95) @ Microsoft eBay

180

Found this deal on the Razer Blackwidow Lite in black. This is a good keyboard for the office (I use one for programming). It is TKL and is pretty great for the build quality. Doesn't have the usual over the top RGB lighting.

Shipped and sold by the official Microsoft store on eBay.

Has Razer orange switches - equivalent to MX browns. Comes with O-rings in the box as well to further silence the keyboard noise.

At the price of $99 (less if you have eBay plus $5 voucher) it is a steal.

N.b. I am a self-proclaimed keyboard nerd so my standards are pretty high, and this Razer keyboard matches and exceeds my expectations - even from being from Razer.

Beware, Razer Blackwidow Lite does not have the same quality standard as Blackwidow (I've only compared it with Blackwidow TE, the TKL one).

The keys on these even though feels as comfortable as Cherry MX Browns, it is somehow more noisy which could be attributed more to other factors such as board and keycap materials etc. I tried the O-rings on these and didn't improve it much. I have 2 other Outemu Brown-based keyboards albeit being a bit 'scratchy' than Blackwidow Lite, they are much more quiet.

Also, the keys on this are noticeably wobbly.

I'd rather get the Ducky One 2 SF for a few dollars more

The Razer Huntsmen TE for $132 is a much better deal.

    • Huntsman TE is more noisy though… you can check on youtube reviews. Also, the one you linked is only for Linear (Cherry Red equivalent) so may not be suitable for some people…

    Ha nerd…. Me too

  • I have this (Blackwidow Lite) as well as the Huntsman Gears of War edition.
They have totally different feel when typing - the Blackwidow Lite has a better feel - the Huntsman has a very hollow feel.
But this is a TKL, meaning no numeric keypad, so takes less space (using downstairs near TV)
I installed the o-rings on the BL, and it is quieter (to me) than the Huntsman.

I'm currently using the Huntsman on my main computer, but I am not sure it really is an upgrade (in terms of typing feel) versus the ~$40 Kogan mechanical keyboard.
Might end up going back because of the feel.

    Of course, YMMV

    • Hunstman is hollow cause its optical i think?

They left the space underneath the PCB fairly empty, so it reverbs a lot. Adding foam inside helps a lot though that will void your warranty.
I think that's the case for all the Huntsman series. I have a Huntsman TE and while I do like how smooth the keys are, I couldn't stand how they sounded before I added the foams in.

  • Razer.. would need to discount to ,$60 or lower to make me consider. Given it will last half the time of a Ducky or even hyperx

I used to have all razors items ranging from blackwidow to deathadder to kraken headphone. I must say their quality has declined significantly and their pricetag is heavily influenced by their name. You are much better off saving your money for some of the less renowned but reasonably good quality keyboards like annepro or kemove or even keychron

I got this (Stormtrooper Edition) for sub $80 last year and very happy with it. The base feel solid as do the keys.

I'm sure there are better keyboards and I do miss the number pad, but not enough to make me wish I'd spent another $50+ on something else.
