Literally all lithium ion devices. Better leave your laptop and phone in a fireproof box and dispose of it too.

  • How's this compare to Geeloo?

    • +1

      Assuming you mean Gooloo?

  • Does any know if you need to keep this constantly charged? Or it holds its charge well?

    • +1

Not sure of this one but I owe a Gooloo jump starter. I charge it every 6 months or so and after 6 months, 4 out of 5 power bars shows as charged.

    • +1

I haven't charged mine in a long time but it has enough juice when the need calls for it.

    • Already used mine from a previous deal twice, and still has 4 of 5 battery power bars showing. Used on a 2003 model 6cyl/4lt Ford sedan. Second best thing I've purchased in years. No more jumper cables and pushing cars around the driveway :) Been a few weeks since last charge. Would recommend (so far..)

      • What is the best thing you've purchased in years?

        • +1

A Ryobi One+ Inflator. That thing… man… worth its weight in gold I tells ya.

  • This looks like a decent deal, but I'm holding out hope one will be released with Usb-PD at 65w or higher to charge my laptop. Still havent found any that can do that

    • +1

You can solve that problem by purchasing a 65w PD cigarette lighter charger and running it off the bundled cigarette lighter adapter that runs off the 12v 10A 120w outlet.

      • That's actually a great idea! Extra kit to carry but I am surprised I didn't think of it. Thanks!

    • FWIW I found one with a 45W PD: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/402737247044

  • Are any of these weird looking brands reputable? Or are they pretty much all the same shade of dodgy so take your pick?

    • +1

Have some dodgy one from 2016 that still works flawlessly. Use it on a luxury car and had no issues. Pick your poison; after all, it's a jump starter…

    • +1

I have a gooloo one and thought the same thing when buying, but it's been great. Holds its charge very well and works a treat.

    • +2

I wondered the same thing when I bought my Grepro instead of the popular Gooloo or Fennmeg or SmegmaCo models, but honestly wouldn't know one brand from another in these things, and all the names are equally ridiculous. Wouldn't surprise me if they were all made by the same factory as they look so similar.

Do not buy this if you're going to leave it in your car and you live in a hot area. It won't last. The heat will kill the battery.

    • +1

Sure, I will leave it in garage then

      • I recommend leaving it in the vegetable crisper in the fridge just to make sure.

    • Keep it in a esky in the boot. Boom! Problem solved. Dont even need ice packs. It wont go over 25degrees inside unless u open the lid

      • that might actually work. im not sure though. im sure a boot can easily hit 70c though so i wonder how long it'll work for.

  • Was considering one of those when I had an older car I only drove occasionally - but in the end, paid $50 more for a better quality battery - last time I did this it lasted me 7 years (vs the 3 year battery NRMA battery replacements use)

  • Seems the code has expired.
