  • do you offer private registration service?

    • Not at this stage, no, sorry. :(

  • Is the discount for life?

    • It applies to the first invoice only. I've updated the post to reflect this as it wasn't clear.

hhmm…I'm not sure about this offer (web hosting) after reading your case against tvcentral lastnight? anyway the domain com.au is a good price for 2 yrs.

    • Two sides to every story though… I had a rethink about my hosting (with them) as well, but it seems Ventra wasn't in the wrong in the end. http://mumbrella.com.au/heartbreaking-data-loss-as-tvcentral…

Regardless of who you believe, there is a very simple point to be made. BACKUP YOUR DATA! It's not your web hosts responsibility to protect your data, it's yours. :)

Not saying who is at fault here, but for anyone who is having websites hosted, there is really no substitute for making sure you do your backups. Into multiple copies in multiple locations as well, if possible. Murphy's Law: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong", so make sure you have a backup.

Not to mention the data centre technicians probably get paid peanuts seeing all these sales on OzBargain :) So if you care about your data more than the hosting company does, do your own backups.

  • Pretty good offer!
