(Perth) Seeking Solar Installer Recommendations

I am looking for someone to supply and install a good-quality rooftop solar system (no battery) in Perth.

But I don't know how to avoid fly-by-night suppliers, dud components, and careless or inadequately trained installers.

I want to avoid everything that was complained about in the recent thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/636122

This is one area where I am not seeking a bargain price, as I am willing to pay for high quality components, decent installation, and overall peace of mind.

But I need to know where to find the good ones..

I used Solar2020 when I had mine installed, which was a while ago. They did a great job and installed Fronius stuff which has held up well.

How come you don't want a battery? I would get at least a hybrid inverter so you could get one later if needed.

    • https://www.solarquotes.com.au/ will tell you all to know regarding why batteries are not yet worth it.

in summary capital outlay vs pay back period is not > warranty period yet

of course if your doing it for other reasons like self sufficiency, environmental then sure go ahead pay back period will mean nothing to you

    • Yeah, batteries aren't really financially viable at the moment.

      • Kind of debatable, and depending on what rebates are available at your state.

Certainly adding a battery to the solar package leads to a higher break-even period.

Cost of Tesla Powerwall 2 inc installation ~ $15K
        Solar VIC Rebate ~ $4K

  • PSW get great reviews on google. about to sign up with them

  • https://www.solarquotes.com.au/ the only source for quality solar installers

just remember: solar quotes get paid for each referral they send you regardless if you sign up or not to them. so still check for reviews on who they do recommend to you.

      • yes but they dont just have any old turkey on his referral list

he quite clearly outlines how he devises his referrals list

probably why you dont see the facebook ad solar installers on his website - which sell cheap garbage advertised as this mythical "tier 1" trash

        • nah, if you follow enough of whirlpool there're quite a few posts from people engaging rookie installer referred from solarquotes
