wonder if the ram is upgradeable?
of course can complain about the 8GB non-upgradable RAM but this is a pretty good spec deal for a BYO school laptop or for remotely connecting to the office through Citrix.
could this be better ?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/636229perhaps.
$87.34 more but probably a better deal. Double the cores, double the SSD, 1.5X the RAM.
38Wh battery. I've had way too much experience with school laptops, and this is honestly a major letdown
A lot of people would be buying this as a school laptop. School laptops NEED good battery life
^^ For any other use, 38Wh is still a bit too small to carry around without a charger imo :|
Just buy a $50 powerbank, not a big deal.
No one wants to carry around an additional power bank when using any device. It's very annoying to have to keep a power bank on your school desk everyday
@Zackeroo: If only a laptop bag had a pocket or space to hold such a device…
This is kinda heavy for kids to lug around? 1.39kg
Edit: Type-C charging will be handy.
Battery life?
Edit: Apparently 9 hours from the description.I just bought for $832 at edu store: https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/ideapad/flex-series/Ide…
Isn’t this deal below better? It has more RAM albeit slightly smaller screen.
Yes but I wanted the larger screen. Plus i think that one is OOS
Ok thanks
Did you need a code to get it for that price?
Certain Officeworks have limited in store stock for $997, can price match/ beat it by 5% for around $667.36.
I got the 15' i7 model with 16gb ram for 1200 last month, the thing purrsss and battery life was crazy mucking around it lasted 2 full days.
Lenavo specs link
Looks like they just bumped up the price to $804.86
now $837.20
now $870.49
probably some algorithm behind it according to stock levels
This is a decent price for the brand, specs and line of laptop.
