Two Free Steam Games - Rochard and King Arthur

251

FOR THOSE HAVING ISSUES ACCESSING CONTENT BEFORE TRIAL WAS REMOVED

GoldPhoenix0 posted this link: http://boards.ign.com/prime_blog_my_ign_issues/b9117/2082277…

It has helped a lot of people having issues accessing the bonus content such as steam games etc, pm the admin there for help :)

NO LONGER WORKS

Seems IGN have removed the free trial but still have all the links up for it :P

Free trial now takes you to a page where you have to pay :(

Not exactly the best games but still an alright freebie :P

By signing up for IGN Prime on a 7 day trial you can get:

  • King Arthur Steam Key
  • Rochard Steam Key
  • Bloodline Champions Prime Punisher Pack
  • A permanent 15% off Gamers Gate Coupon

Should take 5 or 10 minutes to complete.

Instructions:

  1. Create or login to an IGN account.

  2. Sign up for the IGN Prime 7 day trial here: http://login.ign.com/prime/landing.

The source mentions using paypal so IGN doesn't get your credit card details but I'm sure either is fine :P

(Note: you do not need to pay anything, they make you add payment details so at the end of the 7 days they can auto renew and make you pay, we will turn this off after we have the steam keys)

  3. After signing up for Prime you will be taken to the Prime home page, here you will be able to select the offers and get your keys.

    Links:

Note: to get the key you need to login in to or create a fileplanet account, which should pop up when you try to get your keys.

  4. After activating/saving your keys turn off auto renew here: https://s.ign.com/prime-manage so IGN can't charge you once the trial is over.

Enjoy :)

Signed up for that yesterday :) works a treat..

Done it last week and it worked for me as well.

  • Do Gamers Gate ever have anything decent on sale? Only ever see GMG/Steam/OzGameShop deals posted on OzB.

    • They had warhammer sales 2 or 3 weeks ago, it was cheaper than Steam's sales (since THQ's gouging OZ on some of their releases).

    • I've bought a couple of things on there before. There was a deal posted here for Civ 5 I think, from memory it was $20 there not too long after release.

They used to have good sales/deals on pretty frequently but now they've kind of died off.

    Keeps saying this for me:

Sorry, you have already used the one allowed free trial of IGN Prime for this IGN account.

    Blah, oh well.

    • Did you remove the subscription before getting the keys?

I did that and just made another account :P

      • Nah I did it after I realised it didn't work.

    • 0.o

I've activated the trial on my 1 account probably 5 times now with the same credit card each time and it's never said that.. Although you do have to wait about 5 days in between each subscription from the date the trial ends.

  • Worked for me

I've signed up and my account states that I've got access to the free games, but when I click the link to "Get my game" it tells me I need a prime account in order to get them…

  • Doesn't work for me, goes to fileplant page, asks for a login and then when I login it says I need to be a prime member….wtf.

    • I am getting the same error as you. Waste of time signing up.

    • You need to sign up for the IGN Prime trial first and then go to the redeem links and login to FilePlanet with your IGN account that you just activated the Prime plan on.

      • I've done that. It still says I need an IGN prime account.

same thing is happening to me…perhaps it is the noob effect but if you get it to work please let me know.

        • Make sure ign and fileplanet account has the same email address. It was happening to me as well, till they had the same email address.

        • Mine is comming up with the same issue, where fileplanet has no idea that the same account is linked to Prime from the IGN website… sigh for issues >_>

        • there is a temp fix, check main post for help :)

    • for a second the word 'member' was 'minister'

Free is free, and everyone can use more Steam games…

  • They had Assassins Creed: Revelations, MW3 and BF3 a few months back all at the same time.

    • If that's the case, is it better to sit on this until there are games I'm more likely to play?

And are you talking about keys or Gamers Gate discounts?

  • +1

Just did it without any problems, thanks OP!

  • cheers! not like i'll ever play these games though

    • rochard is meant to be decent. King arthur, well. I dropped a few bucks on that awhile back, it's similar to the total war games (read: Don't have enough patience for them)

  • Thanks mate, worked perfectly.

  • Just remember to use a new email address or you may have problems getting this to work.. (I know… )

  • So sign up to IGN Trial Signup does require you have & need to click thru to a valid PayPal account or you have to fill out Credit Card details?

    Just found this: http://ign.uservoice.com/forums/61837-my-ign/suggestions/251…

"We’ve identified an issue where users with older accounts are able to sign up for Prime but unable to access any of the features. We are working on potential solutions right now."

So that probably explains it for those of us who are unable to access the content. My account says I've only been a member since yesterday, but maybe it merged a fileplanet account or something? Either way, going to keep the prime account going for a couple of days and hopefully they'll fix it soon.

    • thanks for the update mate.

  • WTF I can't seen to remove auto renew?

  • Hmm, having a little trouble here: http://login.ign.com/prime/landing says "JOIN NOW!" at the top and bottom of the page, http://my.ign.com/prime/hub says "JOIN FOR FREE" at the top and "GET FREE TRIAL" at the bottom and yet both links take me to a sign up page (https://s.ign.com/subscribe) with no free trial option. Happens for both my actual account (signed up for the free trial before on that one - even paid for 6 months membership before they jacked the price up too) and a secondary I made to test, am I doing something wrong perhaps, or has the inevitable happened?

    • Yeh I am getting the same now, went to add one for my little sister :P

I'll add this in the title :P

      NOTHING ITS USELESS…

I think you can now browse IGN without ads. Not that I'd know because I always have adblock running.

      • Thought that might be the case. Oh well. Thanks for your reply. Needless to say im pretty pissed.

        • Try contacting them and ask for a refund. It'd be worth a shot. It's not completely wasted because they seem to have some decent offers like Steam activated games. Make sure you turn auto renewal off as it's on by default.

    • +1

How did you end up paying for the account when you didn't want it?

      • -2

I signed up for the weekly payment of $4 something and assumed that was all it was, a periodic payment of $4 this week but on completing the transaction it paid for the total year in one hit. I assumed once id paid & setup the peridic payment i would cancel the periodic payment for the remaining 51 weeks.

        • +2

Ah. Well I'm sorry that's happened to you, but you can't exactly blame the OP for that when his instructions were pretty clear.

  • By the way, if you sign up just before the end of the month you can get this month's Indie game (in this case Rochard), cancel your membership, and you'll likely still be a member when they release the next month's Indie. I did that last month, scoring a total of three free games including King Arthur.

Finally got my free games from IGN Prime… but it only occured when reporting this to the forums and asking them to fix it.

So if anyone else is having issues before they took away the free trials, i would suggest using their support page or maybe report it here using the same account you signed up to prime on - http://boards.ign.com/prime_blog_my_ign_issues/b9117/p1

After reporting this (i also gave my reference number) the fileplanet account was now linked with my IGN Prime account, allowing redemption of the games.

    • Mind posting your support page? Would be interesting to have a read :)

      • Honestly I just found someone else who was having similar issues and posted there.

Heres the link, and it was working after they replied - http://boards.ign.com/prime_blog_my_ign_issues/b9117/2082277…

Just a note, I signed up before they took away the 7 day trial from their payment option, you need to have already subscribed to make it work.

  • Finally was able to activate all the prime rewards. Permanent 15% off GamersGate seems pretty impressive…

  • got this in email.. free Dawn Of Fantasy
