Was looking to grab the manual screwdriver set and noticed this was down pretty cheap.

AU Stock as well so it'll be delivered within a week.

Electric one is also on sale here though if you prefer that one.

Same thing with 48 pieces that you can pick up immediately for $29.95 https://www.jaycar.com.au/48-piece-screwdriver-set-with-carr…

      nope.
A when local shop selling something for $30 then the cost (read the quality) probably $10 - high markups
B if you import directly for $30 you could be buying something worth $24 (remember china subsidises the shipping cost)
im talking 2 different items but hope you get the idea

I've got that very set from Jaycar and it's brilliant - very highly recommended.

    • The photos show different pieces, as far as I can tell. I was looking for the tri-wing one (top-left in the Mijia photo) and don't see it in the Jaycar set.

Based on product images, these are the updated non-Wiha Branded (which are not the same quality).

    • +2

      Yeah it's Mijia, not Wiha.

That being said, my fiancee works at a phone repair joint and they have this same set that they swear by.

So while the quality is likely different this is still a very good set.

      • somewhere long ago i read that wiha is doing colab with mijia to make this item
        something like that.

There's also something curiously satisfying about how the case opens and closes, makes you feel like the John Wick of electronic repair.

That's me when I open and close.. the pencil case. Effing pencil!

I bought this two years a go for about $30. You can't go wrong with this, the quality, durability and performance are just fantastic.

  • +2

I have this and honestly 30 dollars is too cheap

  • Cheers OP grabbed one

  • Am I correct that these aren't magnetic?

    • +2

The bits are held in by magnets, so it is magnetic by conduction.

is this battery powered one any good? uses 2 x AAA lasts 8 hours

    • Given the size of this tool, i think 2 x AAA will provide it with sufficient power for most needs. I wouldn't imagine needing more torque as most will use their wrist for that. Personally, i would much prefer this battery over the lithium battery ones. For someone who doesn't use the tool much, eventually the battery in the lithium model will degrade and you won't be easily able to swap over for a new battery. For frequent users, the lithium model might be better, however, i do like the fact you can just simply swap over a new battery for the AAA model if the battery becomes flat.

It's my post and I make the rules, so NO you cannot.

Grab yourself a beer instead, it's almost the weekend ;)

  • Sigh, I bought this years ago and have been recently trying to find it as I need to take a laptop apart..no damm luck!!! Just bought another set…lol

  • I’ve been looking to get a set like this, but was considering this one from super cheap auto.
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-screwdriver-set-…
Has anyone bought the sca one?

  • I have these for a few years and use daily. The quality is second to none. Unlike other sets I have owned, the heads on these are very precise and very strong. I use the T8 all the time and a few years in is still as good as new and has opened some very very tight screws. Most others I have used either strip the screw or the tip shreds. I have no idea how they compare to Jaycar or SCA sets.

Missing: Unfortunately, it does not incl the tip for Macbook Air 2015 (5-point pentalobe) nor for older Nintendo (tri wing) screws. Iphone also use pentalobe screws. Wish they brought out a larger set in the same type of case. Just make the case wider.

    • nor for older Nintendo (tri wing) screws.

That's a shame, I saw it had a tri wing and was hoping it would fit older Nintendo screws (been working on my old GBA recently).

Oh well, I have a screwdriver for that anyway but this would've been nice.

Glad to hear the quality is great though!

  • Bought. Last time I bought it they kept delaying the delivery ended up cancelling it

    • I bought it earlier today and it got despatched only an hour or so later, hope yours goes smoothly this time!

  • Had this set for a while. I'm assuming it doesn't come with a tri point y00. I bought a cheap set screwdriver (sht btw don't recommend) to open my joycons with. My friend lent me his iFixit kit and the tri point bit fit into this one. Does anyone know where I can get the bit by itself?

  • Since they've ditched the Wiha branding I wonder if the quality is the same?
