  • Good stuff - thanks!

  • How is CoD2 and MW2's single player?

    • mw2s isnt great.. i thought it was pretty shit to be honest. short and all over the place.

cod4's campaign on the other hand was great - cant comment on cod 2

      • MW1 - Amazing
        MW2 - Big let down
        MW3 - Amazing

But you need to solider on (pun intended) through MW2 for the story to make sense.

It's not bad, better than black ops in my opinion.

  • Just need a valid address and no need to have US IP, etc?

Can I use my normal login with the Kindle?

    • Nope.. just make sure its a primary address..

      • No VPN is needed etc? So I can use my family member address in the US?

        • +1

All you can do is try.. I've been buying amazon games and android apps for at least a year without issue.. I have my primary address as a legit US address, and use a secondary address for anything I get shipped. No VPN is needed.

        • OK OK. Android apps is a bit difference you need a fake US Credit Card from a generator.

Do you need that for PC games?

        • +1

Do you need that for PC games?

No, Amazon digital download PC games are region free so you don't need a VPN for activation.

If you're asking if you need a US credit card when purchasing (or afterwards?), then no. All you need to do to buy a game from Amazon is set your primary address to a US address (can be fake) and you will be able to pay with an AU card.

        • MOST Amazon digital games are region free…. I know Mafia II is locked to the US -… I know that's not in this sale, just FYI that some are…

Either way, good MW2 price indeed I might finally pick it up! Thanks.

    Referal links?

"If you have an affiliate or referral link, please put the URL in the description only. The unaffiliated link that links directly to the specific product should be put in the URL field."
    Link: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

Who the hell negged that comment? Can only assume it's the OP… Referral links should not be used for the URL. Please fix it.

      • +6

Wasn't me, and please.. point out the referral link..

Infact, go to amazon's site and click through to the multiplayer game sale and you'll get the same link.. who knows why theres a 'referral' value in the url, but I certainly don't get any 'referral' from it..

I really dunno why I bother posting here since you always get some idiot that posts crap about nothing they have any idea of…

        • +2

Yeah, izzeho and Carbon, I don't see the referral link?

        • +1

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003DTMVGG/ref=cm_sw_su_dp is the link I'm getting after the shortened amzn link…?

Get as overly defensive as you like, I was merely asking the question as that is what I am seeing. If it's a case of something wrong in my cookies then I'll gladly admit I'm wrong (and would ask if someone knows why I'm getting it).

        • Try clicking in the top right hand side, the 'share' link.. it'll then give you

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 [Download] by ACTIVISION
          Permalink: http://amzn.com/B003DTMVGG "

Which it turn, turns it into an amazon link with a referral code..

        • +1

Yep your right. My apologies. I would like to know what a cm_sw_su_dp is though :S

        • +1

Amazon referal links, to my knowledge are amazon.com/dp/sadfsdfad/tag=youraffliateid

          Ref= doesn't mean anything

          See
          http://blog.crazybob.org/2008/10/how-to-create-simple-amazon…

Either way, you should report it instead of accusing people.

        • +1

Fair enough. Although didn't make accusations, merely asked (and did report it…)

        • Ok, my bad too. I saw izzeho's comment was negged and with "ref=" in the link and thought that was the referral link.

  • Good price for MW2.

  • Dungeon Defenders was great, till people found out they could cheat the game using Cheat Engine and had ownage weapons that made the multiplayer boring.

  • Awesome, all I had to do is enter a US address and it let me purchase the download copy. I was then able to use the CD key to download it from Steam.

    • Same, very pleased, especially since Steam is selling it for USD$90! :-)

  • Nevermind :D

  • +1

Thanks very much, Vladdo. Finished this on 360 but for $5, happy to pick it up for my much gruntier PC.

  • This is great; I've never bought a COD game because they never drop in price and I don't care one little bit about multiplayer. $5 is pretty much perfect for a trip or two through the singleplayer, and Steam even lets you download the two modes separately so I don't have to waste the bandwidth.

If anyone's wondering, you'll have to go to "Your game and software library" on Amazon to get your product code after you buy it, then you open up Steam, find "Activate a product on Steam" on the store page and paste the code in.

  • Thanks :D

Don't use a New York address. The company selling the game is based in NY and you will cop a sales tax of 55 cents.

    • ha! lol

    • I wondered what the tax was for. Ah well, still massively cheaper than anywhere else.

      • In USA each state has it's own taxes and is chargeable only to residents of the state the shop is located in. Reason why people normally buy interstate.

        • facepalm kings of capitalism my backside. Thanks for the heads-up :-)

    • so which state is best?

      • Any other than New York

        • +1

Thank you Captain Obvious! And i thought it was obvious enough, apparently not!

        • And i thought it was obvious enough, apparently not!

I was asking in case there was some other state to be wary of. You didn't tell us that the sales tax only applied to NY.

      • +1

I used Rhode Island. Zero sales tax.

  • On the COD page:

The newest installment in the groundbreaking Call of Duty series…

    … sort of.
