I have the 240mm version and am very happy with the performance of it. That said I'm only using it on a R5 3600, so not the hardest job for it. My CPU never gets over 65* and that is with the fans tuned to be as quiet as possible.

    • Thanks for the info, I was close to buying the Arctic Freezer which isvery well regarded but a chuck more expensive. Price on this was hard to ignore though. This will do nicely until I finish my open loop again.

      • I have the 360mm Captain X, which I believe from reviews performs very similar to this and has many of the same components. I have a 5800X and have been very happy with the performance. It's near-silent and was easy to install. Seems to idle all day at around 40, haven't seen it get out of the 50's often, low noise set-up but I know that all doesn't mean much… Was going to go with Galahad, but this was so much cheaper. Very happy.

  • If anyone's wondering what their anti-leak system is…

    https://www.deepcool.com/product/LiquidCooler/Anti-leakPaten…

for some reason i am not convinced.

Reviews show its pretty close to the Arctic 360 on a 3900x (https://techbuyersguru.com/article/deepcool-castle-360ex-cpu…)

The arctic however keeps vrms cooler too.

  • Would the fact that rtx 3070 and above blow hot air up, from the GPU to the CPU and Ram area, make people prefer liquid coolers more than AIOs?

Because liquid cooler tubes would by pass the hot air being blow up?

I am genuinely asking because I don't know. No sarcasm.

A custom liquid cooling setup takes much longer to set up but has a lot more flexibility and can look pretty terrific if you take the time. You can also add a GPU/RAM to a custom loop, and that can enhance the cooling properties of the setup.. but it's more common to do for aesthetics than cooling reasons alone.

You can't bypass hot air being blown up, as the 'tubes' are still going to need to go into CPU and hot air will still pass over them, likely to some sort of exhaust.
