High Protein / Customisable Alternatives To Hello Fresh?

I'm looking for a meal box service that is similar to Hello Fresh / Marley Spoon, that can either be customised by macros or is focussed at high protein.
Basically a Muscle Chef X Hello Fresh.

I have been buying a meal prep service, but it's costing me like $14 a meal, I don't mind the cooking element, I am more paying for the variety.

I had a look into Hello Fresh, Dinnerly, Marley Spoon, Everyplate etc, but the problem with all of them for me is that they were around 700 calories and a max of 40g of protein some as low as 20. This is fine for most people, but If you go to the gym your protein goal is much higher, mine is around 180-200g, which means I would need 5 just to hit my protein goal.

Anyone aware of any that might be suitable?

  • If you don't mind the cooking aspect why don't you do meal prepping? I use a pressure cooker once a week for the bulk of my meals and fill the gaps with Muscle Chef.

    If you use a macro calculator like the one that comes with Myfitnesspal you can get a fair estimate of the portions macronutrients. I try to stick to high protein recipes that freeze well (beef chilli, bolognese etc) and rotate recipes regularly so the freezer ends up with a decent variety.

    Currectly using these -> https://www.amazon.com.au/Compartment-Meal-Prep-Containers-M…
    but I noticed the other day Kmart have starting doing meal prep containers that I'll probably check out at some stage.

    • He did mention he wanted variety.

    • I think just because I have done that for like 3-4 years similar to what you recommend, using my fitness pal etc, but I just end up eating the same or very similar meals and then eating becomes a chore.

      I did look into apps that would give exact recipe recommendations based on macros (eat this much) and each week I could just order X but I didn't find it great tbh.

      I haven't actually done much freezing, I always found it doesn't taste great after, but I mostly have chicken or fish which might be why.

  • That's a lot of protein. I'd be supplimenting it with shakes.

    Maybe ask on reddit, but you've said it yourself that it's not a normal serving. So you'll need to think outside the square.

  • Yea just go grocery shopping. There will be no cost effective way to get that much protein per day from a meal prep companh

  • There are butcher home delivery near me Brisbane services that is very comfortable in shopping food.

  • On what basis do you need 180-200gms of protein? I think you are lazy than anything else. Go to coles or any grocery store there is a lot of variety of meat which doesn't take more than 10 minutes to cook. Sausages, patties, steaks, meatballs, kebabs, and eggs. I can go on and on
