Honestly at this point I'd pay the slight premium for the 1500/2000A chargers, since they have USB-C charging instead of DC plug, makes recharging them much easier especially in an emergency situation.

    • Yeah, I'm gonna wait for the USBC version to go on sale again. Buy it for my parents' old car.

      • I just got my 2000a today. Good times cost $95

        • I'll appreciate it if you could share the deal here?

    • Didn't know the GOOLOO 1500A ones can charge via USB-C port. I should have waited to buy GOOLOO instead of GREPRO 1500A

      • The 2 I bought use USB-C. There may be different models though.

Honestly, they're all the same device. They basically just change the casing and that's it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were all the same OEM.

        • The extra power adapter makes the whole case bulkier. Plus, if anything happens to it, I'll have to find another 15V/1A adapter.

          • @CodeXD: Oh, I meant the difference between the Gooloo and the Grepro. It looks like the Grepro is exactly the same as the older model Gooloo before they went USB-C

    • I agree 100%. I got one of these for my mum. It works fine - started my V6 Kia fine. But it's a pain to charge vs the 1500A and 2000A models I have.

    • Hmm, interesting. I have the GP80 (800A) and it charges via micro USB. I was expecting this to charge via some kind of USB port as well.

Had one of these for probably 18-24 months now (before the 1500/2000A ones got to similar prices). I just charge it with the in wall charger that it comes with but it does have a 12V charger as well. I'm not sure why you need a USB charger for it? If you're charging it via USB, surely you either have a 12V socket or mains power available?
The bigger ones are better value and if you didn't have one, I'd recommend getting the bigger ones but this is still doing the job fine for me

  • Can any of these charge a car battery aswell? Car battery is low of minimal driving due to lock down. The car space in my apartment doesn't have a powerpoint so I can't use a conventional car battery charger.

    • I think once you're out of lockdown, your alternator should recharge the battery back to its normal state. If you actually don't plan to leave the house during lockdown to buy groceries?, you should more than likely just unplug them from it's terminals.

It's not what it's designed for. It will start the car though so battery charge at that point doesn't matter, it can recharge when the engine is running. Downside is wear and tear to your battery for being very low charge.

      • Thanks, understand that. I can start the car fine for now but the driving I do still always leaves the battery at a critical/low level. Just wanting to get it to normal levels again to minimise that wear and tear.

        • Good to hear. This is not the product you want for charging. Get a dedicated charger.

However, I think you should buy this if you can afford. Very useful. I've jumped my commodore, MIL car and a random in the street that I noticed was unable to start his car. I had a stranger jump my commodore before I got this when I had run the lights and radio for too long in Echuca Woolies car park.

It's a good buy IMHO. If nothing else, another 18000mAh to charge your devices if you lose electricity at home.

Edit: I got the 1500A in 2018 and gifted the 2000A to my MIL last year.

        • Perhaps just disconnect it to stop it from draining.
If it gets flat to the point you need to jump start it, it will reduce the lifespan of the battery,

  • Back up to $120 now.
