Post Your First Item for Free via Sendle Postage Service on eBay

300

Saw this on my ebay seller page, good to also use in conjunction with the $1 sellers deal from a few days ago if you got that too :)

The link goes to a generic page which doesn't mention free postage (https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/postage-labels) , hence link is to imgur screencap.

Mod: Proper terms and conditions now included below.

Postage through eBay just got easier. Try it today & get your first label on us.

Make sure you screen shot the page for when it doesn't work as proof for ebay live chat.

    • So true

    • This is the best advice. Always happens with eBay

    • +1

My phone is filled with Shopback and eBay screenshot since both have a habit of never working and trying to weasel out of their offers.

  • So this is free postage?

  • +1

Here's the link for the promo OP https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/gplt-shipping (the banner for it shows at ebay.com.au btw).

It's also already started and ends in just a few days:

The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEST) on Thursday 1 July to 23:59 (AEST) on Thursday 8 July (“Promotion Period”). eBay reserves the right to cancel or extend the promotion at any time.

    And it's through Sendle only.

So far, my experiences with sendle via ebay have been s**t.
I know others have found them OK.
    YMMV.

    • was the issue due to pickup?
i know my scheduled pickup was troublesome, nobody came while claiming attempted pick up

      • +1

same here, a total waste of time, until you cancel the pick-up, you won't even get notified that the parcel is not been picked up.

      • Yep. They did not pick up from a hubbed location for a week. Sydney Metro. Claimed they tried to pick from the hub, which is open 7am to 6 pm - its a newsagent
After the week, I picked up the item myself, made sure it was scanned it out of their system and sent it Auspost.
Sendle's website showed it still waiting for pick days later.
When I have been a receiver, it can take 2 weeks to get across Sydney. Auspost generally 2 days.
But there are online reviews showing how good they are.

I had the most sh$t possible experience with Sendle recently.
Basically someone at the BP stole or 'lost' the huge pink parcel I dropped off.
Long story short: you are sh1t out of luck getting any kind of support or service from Sendle.
No phone, just a (maybe) daily email fobbing you off with scripted nonsense.

  • Why are cars exempted?

    Oh right.

  • Every time is gunna be like the first time for me, if you know what I mean ❤️

    • but the first time can be unpleasant and confusing.

  • And if they lose it, it's bad luck

  • +2

No one came to pickup my parcel and no notification for what’s going on! Even if it is free, take your risk to try, good luck!!!

  • How can I send it with Sendle? I live in a remote town how to know does Sendle available in my area?

    • You can drop it off at a "Hubbed" location

      • See my comment above. These guys are unreliable.

  • +1

I'm in metro Sydney and I've used Sendle approximately 10 times, haven't had any issues with delivery.

    • +1

Its fine when it works, when it goes wrong (and it will one day) it is unbelievably bad

    • A lot of times the issue is not with Sendle, but the contractors they used. e.g. Fast Track, Couriers Please etc.

I had a case when Fast Track refused to pick up the parcel from the drop off point for nearly a week, causing a delay.

Another time, the seller had to get it back from the drop-off point as the courier was unable to find the location and pick up the parcel. The seller picked it up and posted using Auspost Express instead.

I would say they are okay 99% of the time. Just expect some trouble if things go wrong.

  • I just saw this in my eBay as I was about to post something. Maybe the OP should change to not expired?

  • Absolutely beware of this if you see the offer. I've been stitched the (profanity) up by eBay. Used a shipping label after seeing the offer banner (screenshotted it to "safeguard") 8 days after I sent the item a fee for $21.72 appears in my eBay account. Contacted them, told it was escalated, 26 days later I contact them again (today) demanding an answer. Just got an email back

    Hello Matthew,

    Greetings!

This email is in regards with the chat conversation we had regarding the free shipping label.

I escalated your query regarding the free shipping label for Sendle and I am afraid to share that the shipping label cost that was charged to you could not be refunded.

Please allow me to share that if the label had been free then while printing the label, it would not have shown any charges on the label in your postage label section.

Also, if you had contacted before printing the postage label when you saw the charge, then we would have surely assisted or looked into the same.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you with this matter.

I explained to him on the chat very clearly how I was charged 8 days later so why would I have contacted eBay to make sure of it, and how would any customer know they should make sure of it when they have the offer of eBay covering the charge. After a similar issue with a Final Value Fee from the Gumtree promotion my blood is absolutely boiling. Will never ever be using that shithole of a company again, and I'll happily file a case with Consumer Protection or even a Magistrates Court even if I end up out of pocket because (profanity) them.

    Sorry for the language.

    • I actually did contact them BEFORE I shipped the product. At that time, the agent told me it is a system issue for not showing as $0 but don't worry, eBay will make it right. At the end, I contacted 8 times in the past 2 months (every weekend) and they told me to wait a few more days and they will get it resolved. Then on 20th August, they basically copy the same message as you. (except, they claim it is a miscommunication, and they already send the money to Sendle and too bad for me). Then they cut me off saying they had been waiting for my response (and cut off within 1 sec). Today, I contacted them again, they said we have explained to you before, it can not be refunded (even I had the chat confirming they will make it right. Again, Chat terminated.)

      • Yes, I have had similar responses and similar empty promises. They basically just lie and fail to respond.
eBay customer service has really fallen off a cliff recently.

        • Interestingly, the responses are CANNED messages. It meant they are aware of the situation (not just 1 or 2 persons) but someone is using the CANNED messages to reply to a lot of people who are affected.

@bobokingdom: It's absolutely bonkers. I responded to their above email with me and they're now telling me it's because I have previously used an Australia Post Postage label (in 2018) through eBay therefore I wasn't eligible for the promotion. Just completely disregarding the fact this promo popped on my dashboard. haha they're actually pathetic constantly changing the reasoning. It's only a small amount of money to me in terms of the Sendle fee (the eBay fee previously was over $100) but wondering just how much money they're making off refusing to help people / people not following up. Makes me sick how their customer reps take such a staunch stance. Especially while trotting out the same scripted bullshit constantly.

            • @MBix: Downvoter care to share your thoughts?

              • @MBix: I wasn't the one who downvoted you. But maybe they dislike when you say "only a small amount of money to me" as this is Ozbargain? We are here to save money :)

                • @bobokingdom: haha fair, I didn't mean oooo look at me I'm super wealthy, more so meant in the scheme of the Sendle fee vs what eBay charge as fee's. But none the less it's well annoying what they're doing.

  • I have sold an item which I have listed for delivery with Australia Post Standard Parcel and I also have this offer.
If I now decide to send my parcel with Sendle instead of Aus Post do I still qualify for the free delivery promo?
    Thanks for any help?

    • +1

Yes I've sold things with one postal service listed but used another to actually ship it, eBay doesn't care I don't think

      • I appreciate your reply, thanks

  • Extended until 31/12
