Imo dont cheap out on the controller, the cheap ones suck for rolling, the hori ones are ok for it. Hoping to get a level 5 or similar eventually.
I had a go at Taiko no Tatsujin on Apple Arcade. It is intensely Asian in music selection and play style in an amusing way.
I can't imagine paying $22 for it though, let alone $91!!!

Do you need the drums to play ? or can you play on controller ?
Controller (buttons), touch screen, motion via controller or a Taiko drum kit.
Having used the drums, they aren't great. You can use the controller.
The official Hori drum works great. Much more fun than using a controller, too.
But costs 7 times the game (at current price) 😂
@John Kimble: That is true. If you're patient and search around, you can find it for a decent price. Just wait until you see the prices on some other rhythm game controllers.
@dano: 😲 This is my first foray into rhythm games…although mainly getting for my 5 year old to play during Sydney lockdown/school holidays. 😔

Just downloaded the demo, joycons too laggy, controller a must for harder songs, but not as fun/natural…
I can do most songs on normal difficulty (5-7) using touch screen using fingers on my switch lite.
As I said on older posts too, if you play Online Vs mode like 50 times, you also get a free DLC song each month, but they are always boring namco ones.

You need to practice wax on wax off ling ling style for 40hrs to play harder levels. 😝

Base game has heaps of songs, but lots of dlc available.
