Frequency of eBay Dell 20% Discount? or best time to buy Dell?

Hi all, I would like to purchase a Dell XPS 13, but I'm in no hurry. By the end of 2021 would be good.

I see that eBay often have Dell store-wide 20% discounts and there is one which ends tomorrow 4/7. For those of you who keep an eye on these things, how often do these come about? I thought I would purchase some eBay gift cards at 3% off as well to sweeten the deal, but I'm limited to $500 per month with Suncorp.

Also for those of you who keep an eye on Dell prices, is there a best time of year to purchase the XPS13? Does Dell do Black Friday sales? Is it any better than the 20% discount on eBay?

Will the chip shortage mean that a purchase sooner rather than later is wiser?

    Have you checked out the Dell Outlet site? That has 25% off sometimes (not sure of the frequency) and the quality of the product (even refurbished) is amazing.
    Almost every Dell laptop I've bought is from their Outlet site. Only one had an issue; the 'e' in the Dell logo on the lid was crooked and they replaced it under warranty.
    The XPS on there are often great deals, though you can't use eBay gift cards and you're limited to what's available (but I've rarely find that to be a an issue if you have some flexibility about your specific spec requirements).

      I like baked potatoes. I don't have a microwave oven, and it takes forever to bake a potato in a conventional oven. Sometimes I'll just throw one in there, even if I don't want one, because by the time it's done, who knows?

    If you just check on any of the very popular Dell items (e.g. monitors), the frequency of Dell 20% off eBay deals is generally every 1-2 months. Although it's another story whether the Dell eBay store will have the specific model/configuration that you're after. Having said that, it seems like you can try contacting Dell eBay to request for a particular configuration.
