As AF deals are all over OzB, so thought to start this thread to share each others AF recipes and any useful tips.
As a AF newbie I am pretty much looking forward to see these tips :)

What recipe? It's frozen pie in and hot pie out after 35 minutes.
Nuke the pie in the microwave for a few minutes first, then air fry for a few more minutes to save a buttload of time? Pie in 6 to 8 minutes.
It's a good idea, but the transferring of the pie from the microwave to the airfryer involves human intervention. (I usually dump it in, go for a quick walk downstairs to get some fresh air and then come back to a perfect pie). I'll try out your way next time I'm at home though! :)
Where do I get a nuclear microwave?
It’s pronounced nuculer.
If they keep misbehaving… any microwave shipped from China.
My favourite is Scoopski Potatoes
Careful of thermonuclear pies, you need to blow on them. Safer communities together.
Doubt you will get anything new here that hasn't already been posted online somewhere, but happy to be surprised.
Open Potato Gems
Put in Air Fryer
Cook 15minsI'm trying this for the first time now, except with porterhouse steak, and 20 minutes.
Will know if it's eatable soon.Did you eat it?
Yeah, I've had steak 3 days in a row now.
Best steaks I've ever cooked!
Literally just the meat, no oil or seasoning. Then added salt after.
That’d be edible
If your Air Fryer has a rotisserie basket, don't put Potato Gems in it. They come out as Potato Crumbs. Big mess. Basket is amazing for chips though.
Put takeaway such as fried foods in air fryer for crispness.
I know KFC reheated in a normal oven is 150c at 15mins?
its like 2-3 mins in air fryer
Nuke in the microwave to get the maximum heat, then finish in the air fryer to bring back the freshness.
@MontyMacaw: Nah, Chef Mike turns it to rubber that can't be saved, the air fryer on its own is perfection.
Leftover KFC from fridge is the best and I actually prefer it over fresh.
Both are soft anyway
I'm in a rare group that doesn't really like cold KFC (or pizza). Found a free bucket of chicken the other week and tried using the air fryer, it came out as good as when fresh (maybe even a little better, seemed to be less oily).
@Vool: Ewwwwww….. where did you “find” this KFC? In the garbage behind in the parking lot?
I use the air-fryer to warm up rolls / buns / focaccia bread or give them a slight toasting (cut in middle first). Makes any burger a bit nicer. 30 seconds at 200degC is usually good.
1) take a tim tam
2) wrap in pastry
3) air fry it
4) enjoyAlso:

Always pre-heat your air fryer
It takes 20 seconds to pre heat
Lol, recipes. Cram food in it. Make it hot.
So you don’t use the air fryer? Cutting out the middle man. 😜
cut potatoes and boil them first (start them in cold water). when the water boils, thats enough. Drain water and cool potatoes in cold water for a few minutes. Toss in a bowl with salt, herbs, colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices. Then airfry til your heart's content.
How do I know my heart is content? Like 15 mins?
after 15 mins check the aroma and colour of the potatas. Sometimes a little bit more is really good. Your heart will know.
Basically MSG, Pepper, celery salt and Onion powder.
My man has been cooking Kransky in air frier rather then the grill. They come out pretty good.
I love kranskys
An air fryer is a mini fan bake oven with a grill top. It’s not some magical new appliance. Think like that and the possibilities of success rate are greater. Surprise for me was combining microwave with air frying. The microwave can often do the donkey work for some things and then the air fryer does the finishing and final touches to produce something that would take a longer time and a lot more energy use to achieve in an oven.
Pro tip: Pizza leftovers are great if you nuke first then finish in air fryer. Almost like fresh once you figure out the right mix.
Join Facebook groups, you'll get lots of recipe ideas there.
I wash a can of chickpeas under the tap in a strainer drythem in a clean tea towell and put them in a bowl sprinkle whatever herbs spices you want then airfry for maybe ten min. Shaking every few minutes. I often dont use oil. They can be left in longer to be really crunch or less time to be like tiny roasted potato. Yum. High protein.
Have you heard of aquafaba? If not don't throw away the liquid as it is a substitute to egg whites, wish it up, add sugar and vanilla (to remove chickpea smell/taste) and u have beautiful marangs)
Why do you want to do that when eggs are so cheap?
because chickpea water is free* and would normally get thrown out
Aquafaba's a genius
Bacon - place the bacon in a preheated AF. Check after about 7 mins. Move around if required.
Take it out when ready. Place on a paper towel and dab the extra oil.
Best bacon IMHO
Damn that's a great idea. Going to try it tomorrow. Cheers
Bacon in the sandwich press is the best IMHO. Doesn't curl but still has griddle marks. Takes 3 to 5 mins. Not fat spraying everywhere as well.
My wife did that for the first time the other day. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use mine for veggies mostly and wedges and chicken tenders and prawn gyozas. Trial and error is the best way to learn the right temperature and timing settings as not all air fryers are the same.
Why neg vote?
Gave you plus to balance..
Boil potato.. mash it flat.. put some oil spray and salt and herbs. Put in air fryer for around 10 min…
I've been thinking of cooking frozen dumplings and spraying them with a mist of oil, but I don't have an oil sprayer.
Well worth the (small) investment, I bought the one Woolies sell for this and works great.

here is a guy on YT/TikTok, he has quite a few, and is local Aussie
Basically anything I used to cook in the oven (chips, nuggets, chicken drumsticks etc) I do in the air fryer now. Mainly because my small apartment the oven heats up the whole thing along with it, air fryer doesn't so don't have to turn my aircon on to use it lol.
Coles brand beer battered chips
$5 Italian pizza from aldi https://bit.ly/3hxvWtl , double thumbs up, it fits in the air fryer from big W, the 10L one, i half it and put each half on 2 levels. done in 7-9 mins. fastest way to enjoy an authentic Italian pizza (apart from the fact that its frozen) its really high quality ingredients as far as frozen pizza's go. you can top it off with some basil and olive oil at the end if you want for that authentic touch
How authentic is it? Doesn't look like Google images "authentic Italian Margherita"
Fried chicken - used a southern mix or similar. Follow the recipe then instead of deep frying spray it with oil and before cooking in the air fryer.
Also great for KFC pieces you couldn't finish. It is actually a healthier version because all the oil falls to the bottom and ends up being crispier!
Left over pizza is pretty good. 3-4 minutes.
Puff pastry samosas came out fluffy and nice compared to oven baked
I have a 1st gen Philips air fryer from 2016. With oily foods that’ll drip oil from the basket into the bowl/drawer I’ll line the bottom with aluminium foil to save time on clean up afterwards.
KFC chips and chicken in the air fryer makes it super crispy and much better than the soggyness it usually comes as
I came here to say this, but knew in my heart it had already been said.
(Esp the original recipe chicken, soggines be gone).
Any recipes for the oven will work, its the same thing.
Are these small ovens good as regular air fryers?
That is a bit small & over-priced, this one is a lot cheaper (I bought one of these today, I only wanted a basic one, there are others for more money there)

Whats ozbargain fav microwave? Would be great if someone can suggest. Looking for decent size to cook quite a variety to reduce oil consumption
Bacon at 150 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes
Perfect every time and no more oil splatter injuries. Thanks for the top tip roof :p
I held off buying one as I don’t want to eat more fryer food. I ended up getting a Phillips one and I mostly use it for roasts. The roast pork loin and the chicken breast roast from Coles are great. They take about an hour. I throw in the meat, peal the veges and throw them in once they’re prepared and it’s a great l, quick roast.
‘Boiled eggs’ fridge cold eggs. 120 degrees 14 mins. Plunge into cold water. I do a dozen at a time and peel when needed. Shells peel right off
Don't they go kaboom?
Only if you microwave it.
Superheated steam from inside causes the boom.
No, they love it haha
I have a Philips one. I usually halve the time of the oven rec'd time, and check the product.
