I really wanted one of these, have plenty of the TP Link Kasa devices, these are awesome and I've never had any problems using them with smartthings and google assistant.

They do, it's automated though, aptly called Automate Pricing. Amazon frequently matches Woolies, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, JB etc based on SKU. Sellers on Amazon can use this feature to price match other sellers or retailers as well. Their dynamic pricing is pretty advanced too.

Such a good price. bought a couple of them.
I have 3 of them in my house. Only complaint is they are too close together so sometimes its hard with big plugs. When they turn on and off they make a sound as well. Not loud but audible click.

If this is a genuine question, you clearly don't need one.

TV + Amplifier + Blu ray player.
Fish tank heater + light.
Multiple fans placed around the room connected to smart boards that you can turn off/on from app.
Both of those use cases seem like they could easily be covered by one single smart switch attached to the power board plug end? I have used the tv+amp+CCWGTV/ps4 for over a year without issue

Just beware they are going cheap because the WiFi module in them is older. I just bought WiFi 6 router and they were not compatible off the bat.
Imagine thinking 2.4Ghz is outdated.
I have one of these powerboards and recently got the eero 6 mesh kit (wifi 6). All I needed to do was connect the ports to the wifi, just like an initial setup.
Does your router not have a 2.4ghz radio? Or is the power board using a really old 802.11a/b your router doesn’t support?
heynik, you just solved my conundrum with my tplink smart light not wanting to connect to my kasa app anymore. I upgraded the router to a wifi6 one recently and the smart light is now a dumb light.
@gummibear - you were lucky. It's been a hit and a miss for me. My HS100 & neither did KP303. All my Aldi ones I bought last year works perfectly fine. Not the TP link ones
@Hargain Bunter - I do have the 2.4 and 5ghz but it's 802.11 ax which is not compatible at all. I had to switch off the 802.11 ax to make the lights work. There goes my $150 on the new router that I bought for faster wireless speeds.
@loropy9 try and switch off the WiFi 6 mode on the 2.4ghz and create a guest network to for all IoT if your router can support that. Pm if you need more help. You can still use Wi-fi 6 on 5ghz

The internet is telling me you can use these plugs to automate things like air cons, slow cookers, electric blankets - but how does it bypass the physical switch on the device?
I bought one for my lamp, but that one makes sense as I can leave the switch flicked to 'on', but I can't do so for many other appliances in the home. Or am I misunderstanding this product lol?
Nah you are pretty much right. I have just a single smart socket and yeah it can really only be used for things that can be set to always on, like a lamp or fan or electric blanket (if you set it up). Another thing people use it for is automated schedules, like turning the coffee machine on and preboil the water when they use the Google Home 'morning routine' function.
But yeah unfortunately they can really only be used to properly operate "dumb" devices. Still, if you can use them they are pretty cool. I turn on/off all lamps in my home with voice commands now.

Yes, as I'd pointed out in a previous post,
This is useless for devices that require additional key/button interactions after they are switched on
But as I noted in previous post, one does not buy these for those type of devices usually. One exception is if you still wanted to turn things off e.g. rather than leaving device plugged in and on standby.
Other: If one had a RF sender to turn on the device then this board would assist i.e.. set a routine to turn the powersocket on and second to RF sender to turn the device on. Logitech have such a device I.e. their Elite Hub but not cheap.
I suspect quite a few people would buy it without thinking about its limitation and be disappointed
@EarlyBird: It's not a limitation of this board though. It's the device that's the pain requiring a remote to turn them on.

good thing I just bought 1 then, I have nothing else I can think of right now which can utilise this, but at least I can now achieve what I wanted with the lamp - I'm too lazy and usually half asleep already and can't be bothered to take my hand out of the blanket and reach over to turn off the light!
oh I'm so dumb, totally forgot the lamp has a USB plug not a traditional one!! oops. time to buy a new lamp haha??!
Just plug the USB lamp into a charger brick, which is plugged into this power strip.

The older HS-100 and HS-110's were easy to setup in Homebridge but I recall reading that TP-Link had restricted API access in newer firmware.

Totally offtopic, I oredered the KP115(energy monitoring version) from TGG ebay deal and they have sent me the KP105 2 pack items. I didn't realise it was a different version and opened it. How does TGG handle such requests? Do I have to drop off the items at their store if we order on ebay?

I don’t see why not. Any router would do. As long as it has reception when you’re outside. Or it should be preprogrammed.
These need to be connected to a wifi at home with internet connection, then you can on/off them from anywhere on the planet.
Don’t you need to be connected to the same network?
Once they are connected to the internet, you can control them from anywhere. So no you don't need to be on the same network. I can turn off my power board while at work etc.
If you are wondering how it works, you connect them to an tplink account created on the kasa app. So if your IP changes, you can still control them.

Need some help, not sure if im missing something or it just doesn't have this feature and that's very, very sad.
I used to use arlecs grid connect smart plugin socket and i really liked the feature that i could create multiple countdown profiles. One would turn off in an hour, another hour and fifteen and so on. I'd have an icon for each of the timers and just needed to click which one i want, it would turn on the plug and it would turn off after the selected profile time elapses.
Now the problem is i can't find a way to do this with the tp link strip, i can only select 1 countdown manually, can't create profiles. Also i can make profiles that will on and off at a certain time of the day, for example turn on 2 pm, turn off 4:30pm.
Any help? Thanks in advance.
