I got one for free with this promotion, and it is just a super floppy silicon plate… not sure what use it's going to be! I guess it will actually save water because I won't be using it.

I’d use something like this for my toddler, as it’s not breakable. If it slides around less than a regular plate it might also be useful to someone with particular disabilities, eg stroke with hemiplegia. Maybe check with your parent of toddler friends if anyone would use it or donate or to an op-shop where someone who might use it can buy it.
But yes, an odd promotion and I can’t see how it relates to saving water.
You’re meant to use this instead of pre-rinsing your regular plates and then putting them in the dishwasher.
Not sure if they want you to eat off of this as it should be lower stick, or eat off your regular plate and scrape the detritus into this though.I got it with online shopping and kind of expected a normal sized plastic plate. Saw the box and thought eh ok, small plate, still good. Opened the box and floppy silicone thing comes out…lol…with a claimed value of $19.95

Have a silicon plate!!!!My understanding is that silicon is better than plastic (in terms of disposal), but why not just use normal plates and not have something useless in your cupboard?
