Cheap Tablets for Six Year Old Kids

Hi everyone,

My twins are turning 6 and I would like to purchase them iPads/tablets. I was hoping to get something on the cheaper side during the sale as they wont be used very often. Mostly for:

Reading eggs
Learning apps
Occasional Netflix/Disney + viewing.

What is the cheapest thing I can get them that will enable to still function well (Hoping for something that doesn't run slowly or freeze often etc)

Thanks so much!

I got my 6yo a Lenovo Duet at the recent $299 Amazon sale. It handles reading egg well and I've watch Netflix and Disney+ without any issues. Also tax deductible

  • Check with the school. For example, my son's school uses Seesaw for weekly homework. Seesaw seems to work perfectly on iPad but Android always a bit glitchy.

Love the Amazon Fire Tablets, usually around $US50 (although, COVID!), the only downside is you will need a mail forwarder (like ShopMate) to get to AU ;)

  • If you're looking for something used, a 2nd gen Nexus 7 I think is still really good. I still use mine and you can get them really cheap.

  • definitely the Teclast M40SE, which is faster than the 2018 ipad for ~$200

  • when you upgrade your phone, give them your old ones

my kids have a Samsung s7 and s9 lol

i stopped getting them tablets and ipads because they keep breaking the screens
