I guess this is a fairly basic GPS but it's cheap.

From the reviews I think it's a good unit, only thing that you may want to consider is it does not come with preloaded speed / safety camera alerts but it seems you can pay a small fee to download and install the software yourself.

      There are a few video reviews available on youtube. I am not sure about the reliability of this particular model, but the UI and settings options look very good and Garmin is one of the largest GPS makers in the world.
