TLDR; call Virgin on 13 6789 after booking your flights, and tell them you couldn't use the Poli payment option because you're using a Mac. They will then refund the $9 credit card fee.
Details:
Click the "Poli" payment option when checking out, and you will get this notice:
Important Information:
Unfortunately Apple Mac & Unix/Linux users are currently unable to use Poli Internet Payments, until a new version of Poli is made available in December.
In the meantime to avoid a credit card fee please follow these instructions:
- Complete your booking by clicking the Credit Card payment option above.
- Once your booking is confirmed, please call our Guest Call Centre and advise the operator that you were unable to use Poli and that you require a credit card fee refund.
- The Guest Call Centre contact numbers can be found at the bottom of your confirmation email.
Note: Please have you reservation number handy.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
I assume December refers to last year, but this still applies, as it doesn't appear they have fixed the problem.
Call 13 6789 to get your $9 refunded.
Thanks for the information. However it would be a "hack" and not really a bargain. Moving it to the forums.
