[Afterpay] Apple TV 4K 32GB with Siri Remote (2021 Model) $220.14 delivered - Mobileciti eBay

270
PAYAFT15

This is a great price for this even if it is a little bit more expensive than 2 weeks ago when it went out of stock
But it is only $6 more so not the end of the world, as for that you will have the item now and can use it. Particularly good and important for everyone who is caught by the Sydney lockdown.

Enjoy!

  • Thanks! Been holding out for a decent price to get one!

2021 Model, but Siri still dumb.

    • +1

Siri works well on Apple TV for my use case - playing content (incl. controlling volume, rewind etc) and controlling smart home stuff.

On iPhone - I've learned not to stress her too much or she has a stroke.

    • Siri is pretty good on the S6 apple watch especially for transcribe/dictation … still not great at interpreting intentions like looking for an answer on the web unfortunately.

      • What do you use this for? composing SMS?

        • Actually yes … and notes and reminders, the accuracy surprised me.

          • @ZeeFlyingMonkey: lol oh yeah reminders! for some reason i still dictate these to my phone….

Do you have 'hey siri' enabled on both phone and watch, and if so does it cause any confusion? I turned it off on the watch some time ago, can't remember why

  • deal for 64GB version please.

    • What is the benefit of the extra storage?

      • to be honest not sure but price difference is not much so just in case wouldn't harm to have double the memory.

      • I asked the same Q on Whingepool and was advised that 32 is fine for the vast majority and that 64 is of use if you load a Lot of games.

I still don't quite get why would people spend this much on appleTV vs Chromecast.

      Seemless ecosystem + airplay!

    • +1

It is not just for streaming. For Apple Homekit users it is the best Homekit hub.

    • Having had a new Chromecast for a short while now, my INITIAL impression is that while it does the job, the Apple TV does it much more seamlessly/quickly, which leads to a nicer experience.

Not to mention the Chromecast remote, for which I had high hopes - it's tiny and feels really cheap. I'm not a fan of the previous gen Apple TV remote, but I prefer it to the cheap, tiny, creaky, plasticky feel of the Chromecast remote. Also how on earth do you control volume with Chromecast remote?

      • Not sure why I got a downvote as I was asking a genuine question.

I guess it all comes down to the ecosystem. I doubt many have a proper HomeKit set up? I have iPhone and Sonos so I do love airplay.

I never used a chromecast controller actually didn’t know that existed. I have Chrome ultra and I prefer using my phone to control videos and movies .

        • Downvote not from me bud.

Having had an older chromecast in the past, the physical remote control is a MASSIVE step up in my opinion, even if you don't have any other linked devices. Much less fiddly than pulling out your phone each time to unlock/swipe/find etc.

On a remote control you just press a button. Also you can use your phone simultaneously without interference.

          • @andresampras: oh yeh sorry I didn't mean it's you :)

            fair enough reasons!

    • +1

I have both, and we ended up disconnecting the chromecast.
Smoother and more responsive, apps like Infuse work amazingly well, just less glitchy all round (especially with HDR and Atmos), and yeah, we have other apple devices and it just works better with those.

I've ended up using the chrome cast on an old monitor for casting the video from the VR headset, and watching Netflix on that monitor. The chromecast is fine, but the ATV is a better experience all round.

I ended up buying some IKEA smart bulbs for the lounge room and the ATV works really well with the basic HomeKit stuff, turning off or dimming the lights when we are watching a movie etc.

The ATV should be a bit cheaper, but it has been the best streaming box I've had so far, I've tried the Chromecast, the NVidia Shield, and used to have a Popcorn hour and have been messing with this stuff since the late 90s when I had a CRT projector, and although it's overpriced, it's still worth it in my setup. YMMV.

      • Thanks for this! May look into ATV when I have more stuff integrated within the Apple ecosystem

  • Ordered one over lunch. My first afterpay purchase - and I still remain confused about the BNPL concept - I’m using the same credit card I would have used with PayPal, for $30 less than Apple charge … whatever..
Why Apple TV? I discovered infuse a couple of weeks ago and am impressed. Can now retire the popcornhour! (If only it had a USB port..)

    • Yeah, I retired my popcorn hour after getting infuse, it's amazing. I use the USB port on my router and share to the ATV from there. It's my only real beef with the ATV.

Also handy if you have your photos on iCloud, the kids love browsing them on the telly via the ATV.

  • I can't seem to get a definitive answer - but can this new apple tv support plex where you can play movies from local network storage? Or is it limited to just streaming provided for by plex?

    • +1

Yes, it can play your own media via Plex. Older Apple TVs can as well, I had the last-gen 4K and never had trouble with it.

  • Back in stock

Have been checking on and off while debating whether to pull the trigger and it seems it sells out, but then the seller adds more stock.

  • Bought one from SydneyMobile (I think SydneyMobile and Mobileciti are actually the same thing).
They ship to me a 60gram parcel with a piece of paper.
    No idea what happened.
