  • Man…..I just want to say……them specs, this is a freakin’ laptop, wowza.

  • should be sold with a free cooling pad.
this thing would run HOT as $hit.

  • Terrible TGP though… only 80-85W

    • The 3060 I got in the nitro 5 runs the same wattage

      • I've read that a high wattage 3060 can beat a low wattage 3080 and i think its true cause the Nitro's 3080 seem to have lower Timespy scores than my AW M15 R3 on 2070 Super MaxP

Amazing specs, shame it's a Nitro chassis.

This laptop shares the same chassis of my $800 i5/1650ti.

I do like my laptop though.

      • Think we have the same one, added another NVME SSD and 8gb ram to bring it to 16gb and runs warzone great at 90+ FPS on external 1080p monitor.

  • Damn I was holding out go get an Asus Zephyrus but these specs make the cheaper chassis very tempting.
Anyone who has one of these with similar specs got a brief review on it?

    • as mentioned above, TGP is so low, check out the 5800H review here:

those 3DMark scores are lower than a laptop with 2070 Super Max-P

The G15 is gonna better serve you with a 115-130w TGP 3080, whereas as mentioned above this Acer only has a a 80-85w TGP and you’ll be shaking your fists and cussing at the GPU gods when you need the extra power.

      • I giggled.

      • Edit: Sorry my bad. The G15 Zephyrus is 85w-100w TGP. Got it mixed up with the Scar G15.

I had a Gigabyte Aero 15 with a gimped 3080 (80-85w) and swapped it out for a Asus Zephyrus Duo 15 SE with 115-130w 16GB VRAM goodness.

This also comes with Windows 10 Home - it's definitely not a serious gaming laptop.

    • Actually, all of the gaming laptops i've purchased in the past few years came with Windows 10 Home.

Its actually more common than you think.

      MSI GS65 2070
      AW M15 R3 2070 Super
      GB Aero 15 3070

Yeah, and its disappointing every time. For $3000+, you' think they can at least include the full OS.

It's important because Windows 10 Home will reboot whenever it damned well pleases, plus you can't use Group Policy to disable stuff like driver auto-updates.

        • -1

You can upgrade to pro version quite easily & for free.

        • I never needed to disable driver auto-updates as they usually appear as Optional Updates anyway by default.

Most people can actually live with Windows 10 Home to properly game on PC. I think the most significant features I know where you require Pro is when you need to join to a domain so let's say in a BYOD scenario at work, etc.

    • Yep, I too demand Windows Server 2019 for all my gaming laptops.

      • No windows 11

        • Pffft, erryone know odd numbers are bad for windows. Or is that Star Trek?
