Termite Inspection Question

Hello Everyone,

I recently got termite inspection done for the property we live in. It was just a normal check and no signs of termite. It took that guy around 35 mins to inspect double storey 3 bedroom double garage house. He was using moisture meter to detect moisture in the walls but was only keeping it for less than a second at one place on the wall before moving to other places on same wall. As I don't know much about moisture meters my question to ozbargain experts if someone knows that can you detect moisture if you only holding it for less than a second and moving really quickly to other places on same wall?

    He should also get under the house and in the roof for a visual inspection.

    Why didn't you ask the guy the first time you saw it? What if OZBers say No?

    I had a termite inspection last year. It's real quick and the guy walked around with the meter on the wall and tapped with lower part of the wall. He said the machine will beep if there is movement and the meter will run.
    He then provided a certificate, but it only guarantees no termites at time of inspection.
    So pretty much if there were termites found the next day, he's not liable. Which i understand because they might decide to move in and have a massive orgy on a Mondays, but what's stopping you or me from getting a moisture meter online and calling ourselves termite inspectors telling all our clients their house is fine.

    Side note, I was told treatment is the same is prevention.
