Purchased this 3 pack contact lens cleaner online, from Chemist Warehouse for in store pickup, a few weeks ago:

Now, just realized the expiry date is Oct 2021, and (what looks like) the date of manufacture on each bottle is Oct 2019.
That gives 3-4 months to use 3 bottles, which in our household, with slow usage, means only 1 or 2 bottles will be used by then.
I know in hindsight, that I should have checked the expiry date written on the bottom of the box during pick up, so lesson learnt for next time.
My question is, is there a "reasonable" expiry period for items like contact lens cleaning solution?
Maybe number of months per pack, or something like that? Or is the onus all on the buyer to check, and the shop can sell with any expiry date, as long as it has 1+ day of expiry?
Onus on buyer, return on the spot if you see they've given you one that's about to expire. Heck I'm sure they'd be okay for a return if still on original packaging on the same day.
Hard to manage inventory expiration dates if they're long shelf items.
