Stripes Membership. Tiger Airways.

My reply to an email from Tiger's "Stripes" who were asking me to renew my "membership" which they hoped I had enjoyed:

"I have NOT enjoyed being a member of Stripes, not having been able to use the "service" for more than the first six months of "membership" thanks to Tiger's failure to respond to ANY of my several messages during that time - as is your normal mode of operation in my experience.

When faced with criticism of Tiger from others, I am no longer able to defend your infamous lack of communication with customers on the basis that your fares are low (which they are and for which you are to be congratulated) but instead join the list of dissatisfied customers.

Frankly, I do not trust Tiger who are very much a BUYER BEWARE operator.

Does anyone at Tiger care - or is that not included in the price? I thought I might be at least able to buy some attention - with STRIPES - but was oh so wrong."

I've now joined the club in pricematching Tiger's prices less 10% with Jetstar - got a good bargain yesterday.

Would anyone like to offer their recent experiences here with Tiger - good or bad?

  • Is the only feature of the membership that you get the ability to buy sale fares 24 hours earlier than the general public?

      So some weeks, you can get up to 2 great deals! "

      and that's it.

  • Anyone who got a satifactory service from Tiger are simply LUCKY! I swear that I never taking Tiger Airways long time ago, the saved money just simply not worth my time and my frustration, no matter how much of an ozbargain'er I am!

  • You have got to love the amount of people who complain about tiger.

    On the 9th of july last year i had a holiday booked to the gold coast on tiger. My flight was cancelled. I did not go on my trip. I got a partial refund on my accom. I did not sook winge or moan. I copped it on the chin. I got a full refund from tiger 3 weeks later. 3 weeks after tiger started flying i booked the holiday again . I went we left on time the plane was FULL and service was very well.
    Like everything in life you get what you pay for. You pay a cheaper fare but dont get food. Like qantas.

    I personally see Tiger & jetstar having not bad customer service.
    Virgin is very good.

    I will continue to fly tiger for as long as there the cheapest airfare around.

    Of course my email has bounced back - I don't think they are accepting replies - business a usual at Tiger.

    So I've filled in their Customer Support form (again!).
