This BlitzWolf Standing Desk is on sale again and now seems to be the cheapest it's been shared so far. With how much I've been sitting around smashing F5 in the Treasure Hunt I think a standing desk would certainly help.

Thinking about getting this….not sure where I stand though

    • +2

      In front of the desk

    • As long as you're not on your knees you can stand anywhere you like.

  • Anyone actually got one of these?
    Are they any good?

    • I have one of these and even from the same seller, it's really good quality and heavy btw I got it for $115 a month ago

  • 49cm high seems a bit small? Is this normal?

    • There's a BW-ESD2 and BW-ESD3 that are larger. This is the smallest one.

      • They are 50cm. I dont think 1cm will make much of a difference.

        • Misunderstood and thought width. It's plenty of height once placed on a desk.

    • +2

You put it on top of your desk. There's a lever to allow you to raise it to standing height and lower it to sitting height.

    • You have to place it on another table.

      • Instructions unclear. I'm seating on the table and the standing desk placed on my office chair.

  • For those who have this, would it support 2x monitor arms clamped onto that top shelf

    • Yes I don't see any problem.

    • It's only 15 kg capacity..

Each monitor approx 5 kilos each, plus the arms 5k by itself.. if you get a laptop on there as well, I'm not so sure..

I got another one(not sure what brand) second hand from marketplace- my setup was similar and it started sinking, and was really heavy to lift up..

Ended up going fully electric desk from lazy Maisons.. delivery only next month though..check eBay for the best rates if interested .

    • Yes.

I bought this BW-ESD1 standing desk recently through Banggood and have clamped the Blitzwolf BW-MS4 dual monitor stand to the back of the top shelf.

I'm running 2x 27inch monitors plus my laptop and the desk is perfectly capable of handling all that weight and more.

      • Thanks All.

        Wow. Ok. Taggis
How often do you change desk height and how difficult is it worth your setup?
What brand model monitors / weight of each

I thought weight limit was 13kg.

Was going to have 2x 24in Dell (~4kg ea) on 2x NB F80 arms (~3kg ea) and a 2.5kg work laptop on a 1kg laptop stand to bring it to same height as the Dells.

Realty appreciated feedback and confirmation although not sure what partner will think with regards to another WFH purchase.

  • Original model name was "the wobbler".

I've been using the BW-ESD3 since the pandemic pushed us all to WFH. The BW-ESD3 is the electronic version of this and has a higher rated weight bearing capacity of 30 kg. I have a single north Bayou H80 monitor arm that is connected to a Xiaomi 34" monitor, 2 laptops and some various writing pads and notebooks(the writing kind) sitting on the desk. The BW-ESD3 takes all of these like a champ. There is much less wobble in the electric version of BW-ESD3 than the manual varidesk that I have at work. Having said that though the varidesk is a larger desk, 120cm as opposed to the 80cm odd for these series BW-ESD1, BW-ESD2 and the BW-ESD3. Wobble I presume just comes with the territory of having the extra desk realestate.

Can vouch for the electric version BW-ESD3 to be worth the extra money due to having less wobble

    Cons
    - the buttons on the BW-ESD3 site next to the keyboard and look ugly af IMO. YMMV
    - the speed of the desk going up and down is on the slow side and you've got to keep the button pressed while going up or down. Slightly uncomfortable while in the middle of a meeting/discussion
    - no memory function is available whilst going up or down so you've got to recall where to stop when going up or down

    • Thanks for your comments across several threads - I'm ordering!

      • @madpig83, have you ordered it? I am thinking of buying one too. Just cant decide if I should go for BW-ESD3 (when it's on special again) or just stick with this BW-ESD1.

        • +1

Yep I bought it, came in a matter of days from Sydney. I can't comment on this vs ESD1 but I'm satisfied with my purchase.

          Good points:
          - arrived fast
          - seems sturdy (doesn't feel like it's going to collapse)
          - fits my 2 X 24" screens on mounts no problem
          - fits my keyboard and mouse fine, plus another set up top because of my WFH + personal setup
          - lifting mechanism is smooth
          - I've mounted docks and other things to the underside quite well, taking more things off my main desk

          Not so good points:
          - I feel like if I fell on this or if a child tried hard enough they could tip it off the table (there are rubber feet but at full height with force at the right place it would fall)
          - there is a bit of wobble but it's not noticeable until you change stance
          - I think the way it's designed there is a slight lean to one side (one side is higher than the other due to where the support is placed underneath) but this could be due to some imbalance to how I've setup (screens not mounted symmetrically)
          - lowest position "pushes off" the desk such that it's not all flat, so I stop just short of the lowest setting (minor issue really)
          - lowest position may be higher than before stand up desk, so might be less comfortable than before (I've adjusted it so it's ok but my monitors are at lowest setting)
          - I don't like the light from the switch (minor)
          - effective working surface is reduced (not sure anything can really be done about this)
          - I wish it came in white
          - I do wonder what would happen if the motor failed (would it collapse? Could I replace the motor myself)

Overall I'm satisfied with it. I started developing some back and shoulder pain from my sitting posture and I believe this will help (I can't say definitively because I've only had it for one week or so). I also struggled to decide between the three models (ESD1/2/3) but in hindsight am glad I went for the biggest because of the wide keyboard + mouse shelf and supposedly more sturdiness. I just worry if the motor fails vs the manual desk.

          Happy to take any questions

@madpig83: Thanks @madpig83, for providing the details.

Yeah, I started having shoulder & neck pain due to constant sitting at my desk. So, I've purchased the Kogan laptop stand (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-adjustable-laptop-and-tab…) for $40 last year. But, the mouse stand that came up with it is really bad and if I have to use the stand I need to use the laptop mousepad which wasn't good so I stopped using it.

So, I am thinking of getting a better one. Looks like the ES3 is the famous one out of the 3 models. Just found, someone in another ozbargain form also suggested the ES3 model.

            Thanks again.

            • @Sval: Thanks @madpig83: just ordered ESD3

  • unblieveable price
