These really don't fit well even with the rubber attachments you can buy.

Sound is also not that loud even on 100%.

Mic is good though according to people on the other end of the call

I have no clue how they've gained such prominence on ozb

    • Are these the tips you're referring to?

      • +1

No but it will be the same thickness. You have to remember that they need to be thin enough so that it charges when put back

    • Mad fugly

    • +1

They fit my ears OK…and volume goes plenty high enough too (if you're using with an Android phone, it may be an Android issue… Search "Fix Low Bluetooth Volume on Android" to fix)

There's better out there for overall audio quality, but the combo of decent sound and good microphone means a big step up in price.

    • Maybe because what can you really expect for 40$

      • -1

Yeah this is the thing. I have tried too many that are in the 50 to 100 price range and they all have some issue or other. I personally wasn't expecting much as they were going to be for work, but even that's a tough ask

For people who see these deals in terms of fit these are tough. The ones that come with the rubber attachments are better. Then have a look look at sound volume, not just quality. Obviously if using for zoom then it's not a symphony or anything, but the volume is important. Sadly it's nowhere in the specs (unless I'm blind l

I'm not expecting miracles for the $$ but only intend using them for audible while I walk around the neighbourhood during lunchtime. Cant stand the in-ear types so the eliminates a lot of the options even with Bose, Sony, Sen etc

          • @reactor-au: Yeah if that's your budget then it will suffice because you'd need to triple it to get something that ticks the majority of boxes

I have these and the FIIL-lite ~$45 on AliExpress
The FIIL I use at home. Sound quality is superb (as per the reviews), I'm listening to my old music with new ears!
but microphone performance is only OK.
If all you're after is sound quality, then I recommend, provided you can get over the Chinese spoken when they connect.

The Soundpeats I use at work as I need the good quality microphone.
I also use them for music through my PC. Just tried them at full volume both PC and Spotify App volume controls listening to Shihad's "For What you Burn" (remastered version). At the 2 minute mark of that song, my 40+ year old ears rate the volume output as borderline too loud even for personal listening.
As someone who enjoys loud, heavy rock/70s/80s metal/Doom style music I find it hard to believe that anyone could call these lacking in volume output!
Either faulty product or user error can be the only explanations IMHO.

Ear fit, well everyone is different.
My ears must be bang on average size as I tend to be able to comfortably use the pre-installed rubber suckers on all the earbuds I've ever owned. Changing them has always lead to problems.

      Astroturfing?

Brought one, fits very loosely in my ear, but thats probably just me.

Sounds pretty good, but did have a weird issue with pairing and sound only on the left. Had to reset and repair. Slight interference issue as well. Its only been a day so far, so see how it goes.

At 35 bucks, it might be decent enough.

I recently brought a TAOTRONICS SoundLiberty 97 as well, before Amazon kicked them for fake reviews, it was 36 bucks, fits well, but have interference issues, got it around it by having the phone in my front jacket pocket. The sound isolation is probably too good, thats why I went and brought TrueAir2 so I can use it in the office and still hearing the surroundings.

      • I have a different pair of soundpeats, and they have the same issue with pairing only one ear sometimes, requiring them to be reset manually to connect again

      • Do you have an apple device? My mate had the exact same issue on his iPhone. I deleted pairing and followed pairing instructions from scratch and it worked fine soon after.

I had quite the opposite. The sound quality is quite good and it stays in the ear quite nicely.
I have been using AirPod gen 1/2 for years and this is now my go-to earbuds now.

I don't like the in-ear one by the way.

    • These really don't fit well even with the rubber attachments you can buy.

Fit great for me. I use them for running and they don't move at all.

Sound is also not that loud even on 100%.

It's quite loud for me and I like loud volume.

I have no clue how they've gained such prominence on ozb

Because they get good reviews and they're $40.

    • Can you link the rubber attachments you got for this?

      • The second comment has the link.

    • What phone are you using when you aren't getting loud sound? It could be an issue with the phones (such as Xiaomi) which don't use absolute volume.

      • Pretty sure the problem is Absolute Volume…
I had to disable something on my Xiaomi to get decent Bluetooth volume.

    these or airpod pros?

    • +4

You found the airpods for 35$?

  • +1

Have seen reviews talking about left ear bud having connection issues after a few weeks or a few days after limited warranty

  • +2

+These surprisingly have great sound for the price.
+The case is pretty small and sleek
-The fit is weird. Sometimes it hurts my ears, and sometimes it falls out, Your mileage will vary depending on your eyes.
-If the case runs out of power, the headphones inside the case won't turn off (Yes, the case requires a charge to keep the headphones off. I've had times when my phone randomly connected to the headphones in the case because the case ran out of power).

Overall, worth it for the price you pay. I would love it if someone can link me ear bud grips for this that can keep in my ears for longer.

    • Try link on the 2nd comment. $7

  • My mic seems to stop working 🤷‍♂️ requiring fiddling both on hardware side (manual memory clear) and software side (disconnect re-add in windows).

Rather annoying i now just use a usb mic.

  • Mine died within 6 weeks

  • They released trueair2+ now with wireless charging

    • With additional led light showing battery level of the case.

  • Does this have an app of some sort that we can use for management?

  • Anyone have a problem where one bud discharges insanely faster than the other at full charge? My left one only lasts an hour…..

    • +1

I haven't used it that long. I can hear a whine from the right one. These don't stay in my ear. But then again, I've never found hard ear buds that stay in. I always use silicone tips.

    • +1

Not something that I have experienced.
Sounds like yours might be faulty.

  • Just replaced mine (bought 15 feb 21) as the mic on the other pair died somehow and fwiw the case with these earbuds now have a green led in-between the two red LEDs.

The only difference I've noticed so far (besides working mic).
